Hi
I was wondering wether anyone has heard of any building work going on/ due to start at near the imperial hotel in pahos. I know that there has recently been a hotel built to one side but I have heard that they have cleared the plot of land to the other side ready to build on. I have tried speaking to hotel and Tour operator direct, and neither were very helpful!!
I am due to get married in June at Paphos town hall and would hate it to be ruined by building work!!
Thanks
Leeann
hi i would check with ur travel agents who u booked the holiday with they should inform u if there is buliding work
To be honest with you along that road (as I drive down there everyday) they are renovating one of the hotels next to the imperial, it even could be the imperial not sure (will look tonight for you). But when you are due to come here the renovations are sure to be finished. On the left hand side of the road is a time-share village which is complete and also some shops. Unfortuantely I cannot guarentee you what it will be like when you come out here but the above is what is happening at the moment.
I really wouldn't worry too much as they try to get all building works complete by the summer. There is a new dual carriageway being built near some hotels but that is far away from where you'll be.
Hope this helps.
Just read with interest about the quality of the Louis Imperial Beach, Paphos, as we are due to travel there on the 5th March 05. As anyone else any comments that might make us change our minds.
Regards
We heard building rumours prior to our holiday and after no luck with my travel agents i decided to take the matters into my own hands and e-mail the hotel manager.
That is my advice to you e-mail him i had the loveiest letter back telling me where and which rooms were to be affected,i think youll get more sence from them than your travel agent.
My last saying to you is dont be put off the hotel for its need of upgrade its really not bad at all.And the foods fantastic.
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY,I WISH I WAS GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we will listen to that advise and stay with our original booking, I know we have inland view anyway so maybe that could be a to our benefit.
BTW have they work on the sewers finished yet, they were around that area the last time we were in Paphos a few years ago.
Regards
Hi, Looking for an update on the building work near Imperial Hotel Paphos. Has anyone has heard of any building work going on/ due to start at near the imperial hotel in pahos. I know that there has recently been a hotel built to one side but I have heard that they have cleared the plot of land to the other side ready to build on, and you would be able to see all the building works from the pool and seaview rooms. I have tried speaking to hotel and Tour operator direct, and neither were very helpful!! I fly out in June, so I really would like to know ASAP so I could change hotel if needed.
I hope this will helpyou ?
My advice to oyu is do what i did,and that was e-mail the hotel manager!
He was very helpful and told me what and where was going to be affected and that it wouldnt bother us on our hols. And he was right!
Good luck and let me no what happens
sallington
just out of interest how did you find that out about the building work?
As Yassoo mentions the work was the Athena Royal which is due to open in April.
I will see what I can find out for you.

I found out that there was going to be building work by the assistant manager of hotel. my parents went there in September for a look round. and they said that the new hotel will be finished by April, but my dad notice that they were clearing the land on the poolside when he asked the assistant manager she said that there will be some building work going on there in future. Hey might be doing the footings when we go!! (in June) as this is my wedding / honeymoon it really don't want to have to deal will building work! especially as our room will look directly over it!
I have e-mail the hotel on numerous times but no one will confirm or deny it. My travel operators really don't seem that bother as they have nothing on file!
Please if anyone knows of anyone else I could contact i would be very grateful!!!
Now thats interesting!
Off to this hotel 30 December - (half board basis). Is it far to venture to a nice restaurant/wine bar, as we do like to eat out even though we are on HB. Are we near main Paphos - this is all quite new to us.
hi, yes theres a couple of restaurants just down the road, and theres also a bus stop there too which takes you straight to the harbour where everything is ,including loads of restaurants to choose from.If you want to walk then it will take you about 20 to 25 mins walk. Its just one straight road, really its not far and there lots of shops too.hope this helps
Sallington,
no problem ,have a good holiday. Our only complaint when we went which was july 2004 , was the happy hour only lasted for 45 mins.LOL
especially if you have kids. entertainment there is really good.
if the holiday is just about kids, then i would really reccomend the phaethon which is right at the bottom of the road, a good 30 mins walk from the centre, but there are buses, and loads of taxis.
just read that you are getting married,. i doubt very much it will be ruined by the work.
but to be honest there are lots of good hotels to choose from
ãlexander the great, is a very good one.
avanti, and its sister avanti village are good hotels.
Athena beach is a very good hotel, and if im thinking there are lots of couples and families is not a bad bet at all.
and if you want to push the boat out, for a wedding especially the paphos amathus is really good.
hope that helps
