IMPORTANT REMINDER - E111 ceases to be valid from 31 Dec
Please remember that the E111 form, which for many years has provided holidaymakers with free or reduced cost reciprocal health care in EU countries, ceases to be valid as from 31 December 2005.
From 1 January 2006, a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is required. If you do not have an EHIC and you also do not have travel insurance, you will be expected to pay the cost of any medical treatment in full. You may even be required to have an EHIC as part of the terms of your travel insurance policy.
For more information and details of how to apply, please check out the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) discussion topic in our General Holiday Enquiries forum.
Many thanks
David
