Well for a start do you really need to take 2 pairs of straighteners ? Cant you share?
You could also leave the beach towels and buy cheapie ones when you get there? Also why not have a test pack, that will give you an idea if you are tight on weight or not?
we have even done the Ryan air 10kg cabin only bag for a week
Thanks Folks, will have a test pack tomorrow and take it from there. Good idea about the towels
I always have the extra allowance one for peace of mine and two for extra room in the case for handbags shopping abroad
Remember you don't have to upgrade both cases, you could just upgrade one case.
We had a 20kg allowance on our May holiday but our cases only weighed 13.5kg and 14kg.
I always put shoes and heavier items in our hand luggage and stuff our pockets to the max.
During the day you'll be wearing your bikini's and dresses (you haven't mentioned shorts) so you won't need lots of underwear as you can rinse them out on a morning and they'll be dry within a short time.
We recently went to Malta for 2 weeks with 20kg of hold luggage and unlimited hand luggage. My case was 14k and I had very little in hand luggage.
I bought 2 cheap towels from Primark and left them at the accommodation. All toiletries were used up or left so we had spare allowance for any purchases. Also I travelled in thin combat trousers with loads of pockets.
Buy yourself a set of luggage scales to check the weight as I think you'll be surprised at just how much you can fit in your case for 15kg
I suggest you lay out all your clothes on the bed and see what you can mix and match - I never take clothes that are 'stand alone' so to speak. Pack a small travel wash and you can always wash and re wear.
Check how much your case weighs before you put anything in. I once had one that was 7 kilos empty I went out an got a lightweight holdall that fits everything in but weighs next to nothing.
exactly...which is why we always take backpacks.Check how much your case weighs before you put anything in. I once had one that was 7 kilos empty
daughter came over yesterday and ""borrowed" one of our medium expanding cases for just that reason, her big hard case [which has a similar total capacity] weighs just under 7kg our lightweight ones weigh just about 2 kg
My case I bought to fly with is nice and light, which was the main thing I bought it for.
