I tried to make it clear that I had already sent the passport 10 days earlier, and I think they understood since they said "we'll look for it"
I'm pretty sure I enclosed an application with my passport it's just that when I found the copy it put a doubt in my mind.
The online track on the VFS website hadn't changed so presumably they have not received my original application despite the RM tracker saying they had.
I did notice the name of the person who signed for it was a russian or polish sounding name... anyone else get this on their tracking info? Looking at it now all I can see is a squiggley line, the printed name and signature has disappeared.
I've called the Royal Mail Track & Trace dept. this morning asking them for the details of delivery... they have told me that the item was signed for by one Anna Zgolinska...... from GEMS TV???!!!
Now I've looked up Gems TV on the web and they are in Redditch, nowhere close to the middle of Birmingham.
I've called Gems TV and they say no one by the name of Anna Zgolinska works there??!!
Royal Mail are 'Looking into it'
Say Bye Bye to my passport then
Myself and mother are travelling end of March so are applying for visas now - I am ok as I have a UK passport, but mother although she has lived here all her life has an Irish Passport.
I have looked on the Indian High Commission website but to no avail as they say to go to another page if you dont hold a UK passport and when I do it say for non - uk nationals who have lived here for more than and a year send xxx ..... but she is a UK national, she has dual nationality, has always lived here and her place of birth is her passport - so what do we do ?
Help please
Your mother should get a British passport, apply online
what !
just apply for a visa on the irish one then
I was asking for help regarding what the website has said and if anyone with an Irish passport on here had applied before.
that is for everything!
no hassle of it getting lost and no hassle of filling out online forms.

Sent ours wednesday and got them back today but they had not been processed as they said my husbands signiture did not match his passport!! now will have to send them again double postage
I think you need to post about your problems re royal mail on the complaints forum as there are members who will be able to advise you as to your next steps re your battle with the Royal Mail. In the meantime- it looks as if your passport is lost or even in the wrong hands so contact the passport office asap and explain what has happened. You must be beside yourself with worry.
Just a note to others, if you think your application is taking a long time being dealt with, it may be a good idea to call and check that they have actually received the package, it seems that 'signed for' may not be all that Royal Mail make it out to be if they can manage to deliver it to the wrong place. I'd better get my money back for the 10 day delivery that should have been 'next day'
at least there is now some hope that it actually arrived.
I agree with billy b and we have used the same charity shop in Leicester the last 3 times . 1 form to fill 2 photos well worth the £50 each and no messing about online which seems a right pain from the reports sent in. Roll on to 7th March

Hi solobrummy its a bit tricky with an irish passport on the irish indian website located in dublin it says if you live in northern ireland you can apply for a visa even if you have a british passport but it does,nt mention if you live in england if you have an irish passport, heres a link but in my opinion i think you just apply to dublin no matter where you live as long as you have an irish passport if that makes sense no me either hope the link works Least on the Irish website it mentions the British Passport - on the UK Indian High Comission website they think your either British or from countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or China
I dont think I want to post mams passport to Ireland for fear I cant track it international and they probably wont process it. Am going to have to go and see them, they are only 15 min away in Brum. So will fill all paperwork, get pics, etc and proof that mam has been here over 1 year (50 odd lol) and try my luck - if all else fails I will get mine and they can give me information on what to do with mothers - for goodness sake if they can issue visas here for Russians and Americans and every other country they will bloody well do one for us Paddys .... Dont they know is us and them (the Indians) that built brum
Not sure if this question's been asked before but I don't fancy trawling all 20+ pages looking for the answer How much does a Visa to Goa cost please? Thanks
Just seen your posting. I have an Irish passport and got my visa recently. The Vfs website states that you must provide utility bills/bank statements of at least one year as proof of residence.
I applied on line and scheduled an appointment for London which was my jurisdiction. I took with me copies of bank statements plus all the other documents that are required. No problems.
If you need any further help please ask.
