Just wondering if Grimreaper managed to sort out his visa after the problems he had?
Reply
Sorry, yes I did, the passport and forms arrived at the visa office 10 days after the Royal Mail tracker had advised they had been delivered ( but of course this was to the wrong place :duh )
I Got it back about a week later.
I have of course put a claim in with the RM for my money back for the postage plus they should give me £10 for it being delivered to the correct address so late .
It's been about 2 weeks since I put the claim in and of course I've heard nothing yet :(

I suppose now that we have all shared information and useful tips and have successfully obtained our visas, the system will change again for the next season?

I suppose we could hope that it will change for the better- a visa on arrival would be brilliant. But I fear you may be right and we will be back to confusion again

no doubt Fiona!! I was chatting to some swedes yesterday and they were saying theirs is tightening up this coming year... with only 3 mth visas or if longer and have re-entry condition attached after ex amount of time they have to return to Sweden and back ONLY to do so, cannot justt visit sri lanka or nepal ...its a real shame this visa is so complicated for so many :que

i'm getting conflicting opinions regarding the visa procedure and would like some clarity please
i have spoke with first choice who say (the girl has just got hers )that there is a backlog so best to go to the consulate (i was going to post mine)
and you DONT need to fill in the online application form you just need to take the written form with you
and for the referees in india just put your hotel down ?
but dont you need 2 ?

I was in Goa end Jan/early Feb this year (yes - it still is wonderful)
There are LOTS of Russian tourists in Goa now.
But an interesting thing I came across there in the English language local papers concerned visas for Russian tourists. It seems that it's much harder for Russians living a long way from Moscow to get Indian visas.
And this year there are now charter flights to Goa from different Russian cities.
SO India has introduced a limited "visa on arrival" facility for those Russians!!

:tup high when is it best for me to do my visa application i am flying out in november would september be best would that be anothe time thanks

Whenever we have flown out to Goa in November, to avoid the rush we would apply for our visas towards the end of August. They would be returned to us within 10 days.

We have never been able to afford to go twice in a season so applying early is not a problem for us.

Hey guys, I have to recieved my visa back no problem. I really think going down to Birmingham and handing your application form is so much easier. I am from LPool so did have to have a bit of journey like.

Basically I printed out my form, filled the details in (note they're funny about your signature, make sure its the same as in your passport we had to do ours again when we where there)
Then on the tuesday (of last week) we headed down to Birmingham, arrived got a lil ticket an waited for out number to be called (around 45mins) then headed over to the counter and the man behind the desk checked eveything was filled in correct, x2 passports and our passports to. After that I just filled out a special delivery bag with my address on and both passports would be put in together and returned in 2-3days. Then I recieved them both no problem on the friday!

I hope this helps :cheers
