Moved to here for a better response as Lessie is a friend of mine and I thought the Goa members maybe able to assist.
When it rains during the monsoon
Funnily enough I thought they might be outside showers.
Yes, your right Glynis, they are showers that are situated in the open
Ooer. Ok - how do they work? (Can't wait for this one :rofl)
There are normally two types depending on the location, one that works off the main water supply or if this is not possible, they would have a large water tank above the shower unit that works on gravity, does that help Glynis
We are intigued as to how, if they are 'outside' you actually shower? I'm wondering are they like the French toilets where you have a 'cubicle' that only goes from shoulder to knee type whatsit?
God your hard to please Glynis They are outside of a house, apartment, villa etc and they are normally full lenght shower cubicles but will normally be constructed in some sort of wood, have used one in North India which was gravity fed, ie. tank above, works well, only thing you have to remember is the water in the tank has been heated by the sun But if your worried about your modisty, as I said they are normally full lenght cubicles, now does that help
We stayed at Jasmine Palace for 3 weeks in December. I can highly recommend it, we are going back in December 2008. The showers in our room were normal showers. We did book superior rooms which I would recommend. I didn't hear anyone mention having Indian Showers in any of the rooms but I think you will find that these consist of a tap in the shower room with a bucket and jug for showering. Some of the hotels in Kerala had these showers. There certainly was no sign of any outdoor showers except by the pool! If you want any more info let me know. I did a full review on the Kerala forum.
Would recommend this hotel.
Many thanks all
