Which island ? I'm guessing it's Kefalonia, Nea Skala. It is a standard british package resort on the island, bit of a hill up from the beach to the village where most of the accomodation/restaurants are. The beach is OK a bit pebbly getting better to the south. It is a bit of a long way to the rest of the island.

Skala is a wonderful resort. Lovely beach. clean, safe and good water sports. All the restaurants and bars are along one road mainly leading up from the beach. There are lots of hotels and and bungalows along the beach road as well as in the town. Not heard of the ones you mentioned but anywhere in Skala is just brilliant. However, it is probably better, if you dont have a car, to be closer to the town. There are some hotels up the Skala to Poros road and although lovely, you need a taxi or willing legs to walk home at night! You do need a car to see the island really but the drive from Skala out through Poros and over the mountains to Agia Efimia and down to the other end of the island is amazing.

Thanks for the replies. :) The resort sounds just what we are looking for. What about cockroaches tho, thats the only thing thats stopping me booking. I refuse to go anywhere where they are after a bad experience in the Canary Islands last summer. :(
Someone let me know quick then I can book. :)
Thanks

Dear Natalie
Take lots of cash, in 10 years of travelling around the Greek islands, Kefalonia and especially Skala is the most expensive we have found. But Emily is right about one thing it is a beautiful place.
