There was a discussion about this topic in the Insurance sticky thread above(although not sure on what page - there are 16 pages!!!). The insurance company i work for takes the stance that as long as the incident date that causes cancellation is within the period of insurance - you will be covered. However some people queried it with there own insurance companies and were told they would not be covered  Which is shocking i think

Incidently, i spoke to our underwriters who said that if we were to decline a claim the ombudsman would rip us to pieces, And i totally agree - So i would follow their complaints procedure, get a 'final decision' letter from the insurers and go to the FSA

Good Luck

You have a policy which expires on 13 July - You have booked a holiday from 17 July - That part I can understand. The holiday may as well be 17 August or September. The police expires on 13 July. The insurance company have no liability.

You cannot claim against a policy that has expired prior to the date of a reason for a claim. If you had already renewed the policy with the same company, then, if it had been accepted you may have been able to claim against the new policy.
