I guess if you went in the very early or late months it would be better, but also most of us who go there end up with bad tummys, not good for a little one cos of the dehydration.
I agree 100% with Phyll, i personally would not take any babies there, the temps are really high and tummy bugs are ever present, although saying this, in the winter months when i now go, the temps are nice and haven't had tummy troubles. That said though, you can get problems with your stomach in any destination. If you go, Dec, Jan and starts warming up in feb. Temps range 70-75 in the day and 14-18 at night.
Hi !! thanks for replying !!!! i am stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea here my sons really want to go to Egypt !!!! we were thinking of going end of may next year !! I do realise it will be hot but we as a family drink lots ( not the booze kind hehe !! ) and carry hand wash where ever we go !! do we chance it is the question dont want to let the boys down ...all advise greatly recieved thank you
You can minimise any risk by doing plenty of research on the hotels. Choose a well established one with a good family reputation and dont be tempted by anything cheap unless it's a genuine bargain on on one of those well established hotels. We always go to the Hilton at Sharks bay and have never had upset tummies there but they did have a recent run of them . high percentage of english families there at that time of year . Maybe have a look at the tropicana Grand azure (formerly LTI) , holiday village and coral sea resort . Aqua blu is also popular.
I agree with Lynn reguarding times to go, its hot all year around, but a young baby could get quite poorly because of extreme heat.
Look at all reviews on hotels and read all the details. I wouldn't drink loads of water only sprite, water acts as a laxative out there.
thanks both very much for replyin !!! we were looking at the tropicana grand azure as it happens !!! has lots of great reviews .. was just looking at the bottle watered forum and read about drinking sprite !!! i never knew that i cant get prices for april for some reason weather its just the airport i chose dont fly at that time i am not sure !!
I just woundn't go end of May, June, July, August, (not sure if its still mega hot in September, might be?).
Its diffiucult if you have two or three kids as at somepoint if you all want a holiday baby has to come along too.
The hotels mentioned, Hilton Sharks Bay, Coral Sea resort, Aqua Blu, Holiday Village, Tropicana Granda Azure are all worth pricing up.
One thing though, dont book a 'new build' they never open on time and just give people heaps and heaps of stress which is the last thing you need on top of taking a family away.
I agree with the sprite thingy as well, I do drink some water but dont go mad on it, Sprite or Coke seems to keep your stomach calmer.

Easter will come under the winter programme colette in case that makes a difference.
I think they may be having trouble scheduling flights that far in the future at the moment Lyn, due to the downturn in tourism. I read somewhere the charters are no longer doing 10 or 11 nights. Only standard 14 and 7, so maybe they are not putting on such a big Red Sea programme for next year.
That really is a shame if that's the case Chris.
thank you so much again for replies !!!! now i dont know what to do as the end of may seems to be the only time we would be able to go due to school and work commitments if I was to take extra care of the baba do you still think i'd be pushing it ??? i know i am going on here but i soooooo want to go
On here its just our advice as we have all seen babies stressed and tired and its so sad. But these people hadnt got a brain cell between them Most i have to confess were not english.
If your heart, work and commitments leads you to May then go, have fun and relax, but pick a hotel that is kids friendly to keep them occupied
I have been to Sharm May, June, July Aug, Nov (several times) when i went in 2005 the first time it was 85 degrees on the 18th to give you an idea
I am waiting for lyns reply, we always follow each other
lol Derwentrocker !!!! I am sounding rather desperate !!! your totally right some parents have not got a clue but of course my baby would be my priority and well looked after ...I know that when i went to florida I did not take the heat well but it was ok because we went out first thing and went back to pools or our room for the hottest periods then ventured out again in the evening ... so we could always do the same the tropicana grand azure looks amazing with lots of pools and fine dining thanks for advise ...if you have anything else that you could share to make the experience even better for us ..please feel free
One good thing is hotels in egypt have plenty of umbrellas to go round . Not like in some places I went to when the children were young where there only used to be 4 umbrellas to go around the whole pool area.
Just take extra care .
Not sure when the hottest time of the day is end May but at Easter it's very hot in the morning from very early , peaks around lunchtime and then starts to loose it's heat around 2pm . Lovely around 3-4 when everyone starts snoozing on their sunbeds.
Have a good holiday and if you think of anything else, you know we are always here. We do work inbetween times though
Have you seen the reviews?
