Hi all,
Three more sleeps and off to Hisoranu
Think I have got everything but I have that nagging feeling of something missed.
I had a wonder in Boots this morning and looking at the mountains of stuff I could get but reasoned that I could spend a fortune for every eventuality but that would probably put me over my baggage allowance as well as my spending money allowance. I am normally well prepared and have never forgotton anything.
Is there anything you wish you HAD taken?

usually pretty good at taking the things we never seem to use, such as extra clothes that never get worn, essentials that remain in the original packagging, but somehow always seem to forget the things we'd always use.. ever find that? things such as phone chargers?? thats really annoying. whats the most annoying thing you;ve ever forgotten??
No joking, but I remember my brother forgetting his "blanky" as a wee one and we had to go all the way back home to get it. Luckily we had arrived mega early that day as some family members were travelling same day so we had arranged to meet up and spend some time together, just as well, cos he didnt shut up till he got it back, would have been a miserable holiday without it!!
Wouldnt let my kids have one for that reason lol

that sort of thing usually happens to me when we have already arrived in the resort and find that something we had previously put out ready to be packed had been covered over and only when unpacking do we realise. how frustrating.
But what made me laugh when we looked in all the drawers, was a ball of wool and a pair of knitting needles ! class !!!
I suppose some people might have found the inspiration to knit a cardi or 3 on there hols, so fair play !!!!
Hi Juby - a little off topic , but several years ago we went on a hectic 3 week tour of Burma - a group of 12 - and one lady knitted furiously every available minute - even at the meal table. It amazed me. Jenny x
Wish I'd have taken another pair of shoes in May to Turkey. I always take every colour shoe you can imagine, but this year hubby put his foot down and said I could take three pairs at the most . I shouldn't have listened to him, as I took a pair of white sandals, pair of flip flops and a brown sandal (most of my clothes were brown, beige, cream e.t.c) so that was fine. On the second night I put my new brown sandals on, got to the restaurant then the shoe broke. I had to wear my white sandals every single night after that (really pee'd me off)! Couldn't find a pair out there that I really liked. In conclusion never ever listen to hubby, and always take 6 pairs of shoes with you!!!
This year I forgot my shower shoes, I find showers and baths very slippy and a few years ago I started buying the shower shoes that are advertised in those mags that you always receive throught the post and they were a god-send but you have to replace every year as they go dirty looking but this year it went out of my mind until I went for my first shower. I will remember next time
Birth control
off tomorrow morning and its really bugging me that i feel ive forgot something...
everything i think of though, i have!
so godknows what this missing " thing " could be?
gonna give up in a hour or so because i have to close the cases up
and im not going out untill 3oclock in the morning- up to the airport!

though if i were you, i would get someone else to check through everything.. im paranoid like that!!
Chill out and don't worry. All you really need is passport and a photocopy of it, tickets, money/debit card and insurance documents. Anything else you need can be found or replaced there. Even shoes can be repaired - mine took an hour. I never take more than 2 pairs, I'm sure nobody notices or cares what I have on my feet!! There is something else though that I always put in - a spare pair of specs just in case mine break.
I have an Excel spreadsheet with a master list of clothes that I choose from depending on our destination.
I know what tops go with what trousers and never bring anything back unworn as I don't take too much.
I have a master list of general things such as passports, money, medecines etc.
A list of things to do, such as have vaccinations, book the cat into the cattery, book car parking etc.
I make a note of the restaurants we ate at in case we go back or someone on the forums asks for recommendations.
I know how much money we took and how much we spent on each holiday.
I know how long it took us to get to the airport......
I know it sounds sad but it works for me, and in my defence, I AM retired and have the time to do it.
There is an 'On-Line Checklist' tool on here for those who aren't as anal as me.
There's nothing wrong with being organised -
or being so thoughtful (re restaurant recommendations)
totally agree,
Of course you all use HTs check list don't you?
I keep a list of what goes in my freezer, where I bought it, how much it cost and when I take stuff out, I cross it off the list.
My ex-boss really used to take the mickey out of me - but that didn't stop him utilising my organisational skills to the limit.
Do you think I should get out more?
still, thats just me!!
Today's the day!
Cases packed and whats not in them is getting left behind and I dont care!!!
I still think I have everything but that nagging feeling I have thrown out with the rubbish!! My holiday wont b spoilt by something iv forgot, unless it s the kids an even then, its thier holiday spoilt not mine! LOL
Im off to enjoy the fruits of my hard earned wages and enjoy the blistering sunshine!!
Hope you all enjoy yours and dont forget too much
Actually, as JMK says, you only need your passports, tickets, money & insurance docs.
