I think Island Cruises will be more expensive if that happens, looks like I got in at the right time!

9 more days and I will be of, can't wait as never cruised before.

Well, at long last I have eventually booked our cruise for next year!

Ended up going with Royal Caribbean, on the Voyager of the Seas.

We got prices direct from Thomson, who advised that my son, who will be 2 when we go, MUST sleep in a bed due to health & safety rules!! (I found this a tad OTT, as I don't know many 2 year old that sleep in a bed and not a cot) That put me off a bit, and then we would have had to be on deck 2/3 as the only other deck that could accommodate 3 of us was deck 7 and the price rocketed
We were not offered any type of child rail and therefore I wasn't keen on my baby sleeping in a bed. The price I found to be high considering it was for a deck 2/3 cabin. Other Cruise companies I rang said they could not better the deal as Thomson won't offer travel agent discount anymore.

To cut a long story short, the cruise company suggested RCI which I though would be mega expensive...its costing us £200 more than Thomson, for a bigger ship, that accommodates 2 year old with loads of kids facilities, and are providing us with a cot! And we get an overnight stay in a 4 star hotel in Barcelona before we go, so 8 nights instead of 7.

Never in a million years expected RCI to be on a par with Thomsons price wise. Roll on next year!!!!

Looks like I have been waisting my time posting

RCI,NCL,Princess and even Celebrity are not that much more expensive than Thomson OV, when you get the deals often they can come out cheaper.

Out of interest what dates and prices did you get I see the leadin price cruise only in the US US is around £550pp for August dates next year, UK seem to be over £750 allthough cabin availability is an issue a lot of grades are full.

The UK pricing will probably have better deal for the little one.

Hi, we are going on 12th Sept from Glasgow staying in a 4 star hotel central Barca, for 1 night then cruising on 13th for a week, price for 2 adults and 1 child....£2,000 for 8 nights in an upgraded cabin.

Thomson wanted £1970 for deck 2/3 for 7 nights, and the RCI ship far superior, I like Thomsons but the whole bed issue for my son annoyed me, as did the deck 2/3 cabin as we have always upgraded, and could have still if my son was allowed a cot! Was told if he had been under 2 before we departed then he could have had a cot!!!

Crazy!
