we saw quite a few last year but they were well off shore, spent lots of time in the sea with the kids no bother.
Hi - I seem to remember reading somewhere that Sunny Beach has a lot of Jellyfish in the early season April - May.....but they "move on" when the season really gets going. I wouldn't worry too much about them tho as they are not exactly the box jellyfish or such that you find elsewhere.
Regarding jellyfish, we were in sunny beach last year, going back in 8 weeks and counting!!, and there were loads of jellyfish in the sea but they were not a problem, our 11 year old daughter and loads of other kids and adults alike were picking them up, and as someone else said, loads of jellyfish and fish = clean water!
get a diving mask if you dont feel conftable ,you will then be able to see whats around you,get some fins too, will open a new world to you,buy them here as abroad cost more and useally crap, put mask to face breath in if mask dont fall off,it fits and should not let in water.
i was there last week and didn't see any jelly fish at all. some of my family spent most of the day in the sea without seeing any jelly fish,
Just got back from SB after three lovely weeks. Did not see any Jellyfish at all
Was in Sunny Beach for the first 2 weeks in June and there were loads of tiny jelly fish in the sea the day after a bad thunderstorm. They were completely gone the next day.
spent 2 weeks in sunny beech last year at the end of july it was very hot
Took my kids to a beach here in the North of Ireland yesterday. Jellyfish everywhere, some of them were quite big. So not just in Sunny Beach.
in Elenite last year there were loads after a storm. Those that were clse to the shore were not that big and the kids were collecting them without being hurt. Further out though they were hugh!
Just returned from Sunny Beach and saw jelly fish - though again there had been a storm before the sightings
yes would say it is a problem, I have been going here for the last 4 years in july and there are virtually hundreds every year. if you do not snorkel you probably would not know.
We had a wonderful holiday in Sunny Beach 2 yrs ago. We just loved the miles of sand and the clean clear sea, where me a non swimmer could wade out such a long way in the lovely warm sea, One problem was the loads of jelly fish which came in on the tide. Can anyone tell us is that still the case or why so many and do they sting if stepped on?
Jelly fish are a plenty in Sunny Beach but we never had any problems with them as both my husband and our kids and loads of other people would pick them up, and no stings!!!
I have a 2 year old so was a little worried about jelly fish but they really were nothing to worry about.
Gemma
just got back ,yes there are hundreds of them, dont think they are the stinging types as i bumped into loads of them and was ok, they are quite small as well
Been in sea almost everyday, and I love spending time in sea (ask my red burnt back!!!!)
Not seen one Jelly in sea or washed up and I've walked about 3 miles between SB and Naz
As ppl have said they're not dangerous
Fear not
Still, its a great way of getting your kids out the water
This is a question from my husband Are there jelly fish in Albena?- he has been told that there are Portugese Man of War out there I was telling him how safe the sea was for kids- which one of us is right
Thanks
Pam
we went in the sea in Albena and didnt see any , but the day we went on the pirate ship party in Golden Sands we saw some MASSIVE ones bigger than dinner plates , my husband was in the water swimming and they didnt bother him
