Does anyone know if the seats recline on the 737-800 Jet.com2 planes ? I'm hoping, like Ryanairs 737s, the answer is no !

HI...Can some one please advice me.

I'm flying with my hubby and 3 children...were keeping costs down and are only taking hand luggage, 1 x 10kg each.
BUT we need to take 3 booster seats as were hiring a car and not paying to hire them..way to expensive.
So what i need to know is can i take these on the plane for free..this is what jet2's web site says.

Quote from Jet2's website replaced by link as we can't allow pasted website information due to copyright issues. Link: Car Seats and Pushchairs. Dazbo HT Mod

So does this mean i can take the booster seats and my 5 x hand luggage.
The booster seat(s) are no more than 2kg and are small..i have 3 children on the booking
THANK YOU

vickypixi,

Welcome onboard :tup
I would be very careful taking them as hand luggage as it does say when taken with checked luggage, ie checking in bags, not hand luggage and mentions car seats and buggies, not specifically booster cussions. Buggies and car seats are loaded in to the aircraft hold, not carried in the cabin whereas what you're taking will be carry on items. Hand luggage is normally strictly one piece per person. I would give Jet2 a call to get a definitive answer, but they may insist on them being part of your hand luggage.

vickypixi,

I agree with Darren given my unsuccessful request to take essential/critical medical equipment on board in addition to our 10kg hand luggage allowance. Prior to a recent flight they said NO ! Easyjet and Ryanair allow us to do this at no cost.

Jet2 try and promote themselves as the friendly airline - but on their terms only and not yours !!

You may end up putting them in a hold case (and paying the fee) if this is the most cost effective way of taking them rather than hiring 3 from the carhire supplier.

If you do call them rather than calling their customer services team on the expensive 0901 number I went to saynoto0870 and found an alternative number, 020 3059 8331 and called them for nothing. Our talktalk phone plan means we dont pay for 'normal' 01 / 02 numbers.

Thank you :) Did think i was living in hope!!
So i'v decided to take i check in luggage at £45..for the booster seats..damm site cheaper than hiring them.

I've booked row 1a on a jet2 flight from Manchester to Ibiza. It does appear to be a window seat according to the seating chart and this might sound a little daft, but does anyone know if I'll have an actual window to look out of?

rdancing,

What are your flight numbers and when are you travelling? This information is needed to work out the aircraft type used on your flight.

Hi Darren,

The flight number is LS169 travelling from Manchester to Ibiza on 4th June 2013 and returning it's LS170 on 13th June 2013. I am sat in extra legroom seat 1A there and back. Thanks.

rdancing,

MAN-IBZ-MAN (LS169/170) are operated by Boeing 737-800. 1A has a window view. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thanks Darren. I was positively terrified of the possibility of not having a window by my seat to look out of. You have put my mind at rest.

Hi Darren, we are flying from East Midlands airport to Tenerife on 30th April LS633. Could you please tell me what sort of aeroplane we will be on? I have read reports that they are using very old planes with very uncomfortable seats is there any way of knowing if this will be one of them? Many thanks.

Has anyone had their in flight meals? Wondering whether to book them or not.

Darren is on holiday at the moment and will answer when he gets back.

In the meantime it might help if you say which date you are flying on.

Marge, you will probably be on a very old plane, but I understand that they have put new seats in.

Do not worry about old planes, they are nicely run in. It is the new plane you need to worry about.

Glynis, Marge edited her original post to add the date of travel. It was not there when I posted.

Your flights are operated by Boeing 737-800. While the fleet age is on the older side, the 737-800, being one of the newer generation aircraft in their fleet, aircraft have a high level of maintenance are once back from a D-check every 5 or so years, they're pretty much rebuild from component level so age isn't all that significant like it is with cars for example. Seat comfurt is subjective and i've always find flights with Jet2 comfortable enough. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

LBA-AGP-LBA (LS185/6) are operated by boeing 737-800. Row 3 are standard seats as is the wheelchair row.
