Another Jet2 question!

Ryanair require you to suppy Advanced Passenger Information (passport numbers) when flying to Spain, and ask for this info at the time of booking. Jet2 didn't mention this on their website when I booked flights to Murcia 2 days ago. Anyone know why? I assume I will need to provide this regardless of the airline?

Thanks

Candida,
Some airlines collect this at the time of booking, others allow you to enter it online prior to travel, all will allow collecting the data at check-in.

Cheers,

Thanks for that Jet.

I intend to check in online nearer the time so I assume they will ask for this info at that stage. That leads me to another query.......can I do online check in if I have a suitcase for the hold?

Thanks

candida,

Once you've checked in online and printed your boarding cards, all you need to do is go to the fast bag drop off desk where luggage tags will be attached to your suitcase and away you go!

Just noticed that Jet2 have changed their website. The prices in the boxes on the first page look inviting until you get to page 2 and select your chosen flights, they then add the taxes on, but under the box where it shows the price it says "but excludes variable payment card fee & variable fuel supplement. You then have the option of booking hold baggage and is now £5.99 each journey & still you have not got your total price. I chose 2 flights one at 99p and the other at £39.99 the costing on page 2 was £75.98 , I then added 1 hold bag per journey £11.98 and then proceeded to check out and the price showing was £95.78,+ card fee (Not sure what card cost is). I find this confusing and misleading & thought airlines had to abide by the rules of trading standards authority and had to show prices up front. Be wary if you use the site as its changed completely and needs scritinizing so you dont miss unticking or ticking boxes & getting charged for something you didnt want.. Cheers Jayjan

Urgent advice needed. Last September we booked 2 flights with Jet2 for June this year. When I went on their website yesterday to book the seats on-line it was telling me that my reference/surname/email did not exist. Has this happened to anyone else. We are frantic. Thought I would ask on here first before we attempt the 50p per minute phone line.
Any information would be welcome.

This is just an idea but....

.. do you have to be a registered user to use the on-line feature after booking? I wanted to check a reservation on the Swiss International site last year and because I'd made it as a "guest" user it wouldn't let me see it, even after I'd registered a profile. I think this is quite a common thing on airline sites.

If you don't want to spend 50p a minute try 0207 150 0374 instead.

Steve, thanks for your reply. With regard to the registered user info... No i have used Jet2 many times and I last looked at the online booking for seats towards the end of January but i felt that they were not booking up so fast, so i left it for a while (like you do, anything to save a couple of quid). Will give the number you have posted a try and will let you know the outcome.

thanks again.

Jayjan,

I see what you mean. I booked my flights to Murcia (for July) 2 weeks ago. I just had a look at the prices today and at first glance it looked like they had gone down considerably! I was kicking myself for a minute - till I looked at the next page. Then I discovered that they really haven't changed, well actually they have gone up a little. I agree with you jayjan, people need to be aware of this when booking online with Jet2. The price you see on page 1 is NOT the true price of your fare!

Linsi, Jet 2 have changed the design of their website considerably this week and they could be having problems with it , it seems strange that you have had a confirmation email and the website system doesnt recognise it. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers Jayjan

Jayjan thanks for your reply. I telephoned Jet2 on Friday and was told that the website was experiencing difficulties and that hopefully it should be sorted out by Monday. I gave them my reference and they told me where I was flying from and to, and also the dates of my flights and that I had nothing to worry about as my booking is definitely ok. BUT, being one of lifes worriers, I must admit I will feel better once I can get on and book our seats on line. I would still like to hear from anyone else this has happened to. Surely we are not the only ones.

looking forward in anticipation.
Kind regards Linsi

I am glad its not just me. The site wont let me access my booking saying I am quoting the wrong e-mail address and/or surname and/or Booking reference. I cant get through to the call centre so I guessed they may be a problem. I dont fancy holding on at 10p a minute.

Thanks for the information, try again tomorrow.

I thought that they had made it mandatory that airlines now have show the total price from the offset? It is very misleading with Jet 2. They now show a price then add on taxes then when you put all your details in and are just about to pay it has fuel supplement added on too as well as all that, they have put the luggage up to £5.99 each way when the other week it was only a fiver and you have to pay for using your card when there are no other methods of payment, I have just booked a flight that started off at £20.99 one way, £24.99 the other, total £45.98 but the real total cost came to £99.54 :(

Hi emeritus,

The phone number i rang is 0906 302 0660. Although it costs 50p per minute i got straight through after listening to the options available and was on the line for 4 minutes. It cost me £2 but in order not to ruin my weekend i decided it was worth it. Let me know how you get on.

Sue, I said same thing approx 8 posts back, checked two flights last week totalling £40.98, page 2 total £75.98, then added baggage £11.98 and when you got to the page prior to payment it had totalled to £95.78 then the debit card payment on top of that. I dont think they are abiding by the law with this, and cannot understand why they have changed their website when the old one at least gave you the price up front on the 1st page, then you had to pay for check in baggage. Surely someone will report the website to the appropiate authorities for misleading prices. Cheers Jayjan

Help. I have another problem now. My booking has now reverted back to being in existance but unfortunately the booking says that we have "no bags". I have the original email which clearly says one bag each on outbound and inbound flights. My query is....If I dont go on-line and pay for them again, will we get to the airport and not be able to put bags into the hold.

Any replies will be gratefully received.
Regards Linsi.

You will be able to put bags in the hold but they charge you more at the airport, It's now £5.99 each way if booked on line or £10.00 each way when you check in if you haven't booked on line.

Sue, thanks for your rapid reponse. I did pay extra for our bags when i booked the flights in September last year and it says so on my original confirmation. But if like you say, you can check the bags in at the airport then i will wait and see what happens.

Thank you very much.
