majorcagirl,
There's nothing on the aviation grapevine. Jet2 are quite a strong airline and it a good position so I wouldn't worry. What was on Watchdog tonight was about an issue with some passengers, not the finacial security and future of the airline.
Darren
Thanks david and darren for your quick replies! I also went on the watchdog site and read what the problem was. Phew, that's put my mind at rest.
I hope not, we fly with them on the 28th of this month.
Have opted for online check in can anyone tell me how this works at Alicante? I've never done online check in before and know I can check in via their website up to 5 hours before from here. Leeds is a little airport so am sure we'll manage to 'drop off' the luggage however, I'm not sure of how it works on the return leg.
If anyone has done this before can you offer me some advice please?

Edit to change from airport to online - duh!
I have done the online checkin for our flights to faro on thursday and also for our return flights to manchester, very easy no hassle.so long as its 28days or less to your flights you can do your checkin for both legs of your journey at the same time or do your return checkin up to 5 days before you travel. you need all your passport information as well as expiry date
Thanks Jeanie. I'd like to know what happens at Alicante airport when you get there with your bags and ticket if anyone knows. Do I need to go to the Alicante airport thread or will most airports have the same procedure?
Most airports have the same systems in operation so it shouldn't be any different in Alicante than it is in Leeds.
Darren
Gulp. Don't know what happens in Leeds yet am just guessing But not as scared as I know Leeds is a quiet airport.
We did it last year, we checked in online. Jet2 had a bagage drop counter just took it there they sent it on there way and give you the barcode receipt for the bag, ask you the usual questions did you pack it yourself etc, then you just go through to security.
Thanks Steve - will still be nervous till I do it the first time
You'll be fine.
Are JET2 operating to New York again ?
Does anone know when Jet2 winter 09/10 will be on sale. They have Canaries and ski but no Spainish mainland yet for sale.
Jet2 have confirmed that they'll begin flights to Sharm El Sheik (EGPYT) from Newcastle International on October 17 this year
Have booked Jet2 flights Manchester to Faro out Oct 17th back Oct 24th. Looks like it will be a 757 we fly on. To make sure we sit with the kids I have reserved seats and have chosen row 16 both ways. Does anybody know if these seats are any good or should I change them. Any advice would be gladly received.
MAN-FAO-MAN (LS875/6) are indeed operated by a Boeing 757-200. Row 16 are as good as any other really, they don't really vary apart from extra legroom seating and seating is always personal preference. There's more aircraft information on our What Aircraft? thread. There are two rows in that area with no window due to the routing of cables and air conditioning.
Darren
Flying from manchester to alicante on the 7th of june i have reserved seats 1e and 1f , is there a window there??
I've done a dummy booking to get up the seat allocation (didn't you get this choice when you booked?) ie it shows you the seat layout and you pick your seats?
Your Flight Will Be Operated By A Boeing 757-200, As Far As I remember There Is A Window There.
