Hiya

I haven't stayed at this hotel, but I do know there is a Jewellers within the complex, however, the hotel shops are usually very expensive, although there are deals to be had. I got a beautiful ring from a hotels in house jeweller, and it is still in wonderful condition, 9 years on.

Go into Antalya, the bus service (Dolmus) runs frequently past all the hotels, and it is so easy to get into Antalya for a few coins, there is also a tram service that runs from Lara Beach into Antalya.

There is a huge array of specialised jewellers, plus some good shopping malls too.

The best one we visited was Migros Shopping Mall. It has over 100 shops, plus restaurants and cinemas too, and I believe it is open 365 days a year.
Jewellers, designer shops, shoe shops everything you could want really, and well worth a look.

You will find all the jewellery in Turkey to a very high spec, usually starts at 14ct, and they do know their stuff, and if you have any jewellery with you that looks dull, they will clean it for you, usually free of charge...............

One thing, this part of Turkey (Antalya region) does price up in Euros', so watch the prices. May be better to pay by cc, at least if you spend over £100 (which you will be doing....lol) at least your card will act as further insurance against loss or future defects, just keep receipt.

Hope this helps a little, I know you will get lots of tips from others, and have a wonderful holiday too. :sun

I have bought thousands of pounds worth f jewellery in Turkey and always paid by cash that way you will always get a better deal because you can haggle more .They will give you a certificate and reciept so there will be no trouble if you think for some reason you have a problem .Every piece i have ever bought in Turkey has been valued in this country at twice /three times more than i paid for it in Turkey.

Thanks for the responses so far, bluepeterno1 have you any jewelers that you can recommend in Antalya? Many thanks again in advance.

Bluepeter is absolutely right, every piece of gold we have bought in Turkey has always been worth a lot more in this country, and yes cash is brilliant to pay for everything, but I like to use the added protection that a cc gives you when purchasing anything over £100, at least that way, you are doubly protected.(you can pay the full amount off at the end of the month, so no interest) but of course, you will get a far better deal when paying in readies, excellent point peter.

Horses for courses, and I am sure lots of recommendations for jewellers will be coming your way.

Enjoy shopping.

Hi Triflebum.Just a small correction, there is no tram from Lara Beach to Antalya.Where I think that you may have got this from is that Yes, Antalya does have a new Lightweight Metro Train which is currently being tested with Bags of sand to simulate passengers.Originally the plan was to run it from Antalya to the Airport and then onto Alanya but not to Lara Beach. It's just the DomuÅŸ I'm afraid.Re Jewellers, on the dolmuÅŸ route from Lara Beach ( No's 105 & 103 ) you will pass the Laura Centre. This is about 20 minutes from Lara Beach and has excellent Jewellers shops and others as well. For those that wish to look around a Supermarket Migros have recently opened a new store opposite the Hotels on Lara Beach.Should give the Ladies something to do whilst you guys are having a Beer or two.

Am I going mad then????????????could have sworn I jumped on a tram from Antalya into Lara Beach area, is there not a two track system from Antalya centre to Lara Beach that runs in both directions? Know I haven't dreamt a tram system.........................I know it is a couple of years ago since we were there, but I don't think I am imagining things.......or am I. Please tell me old age and poverty hasn't kicked in yet?

Sorry, just checked with him indoors, and he has confirmed we did use the tram in Antalya, but it only goes a short distance from and to the museum, and it passes a couple of the bigger hotels. So my mistake for thinking it covered all of Lara Beach. Dolmus good though, well I think it is????lol, can't you just tell that Lara Beach was not on the top of my list of places to travel in Turkey.......................
