Just back today after my first ever trip to Turkey.Stayed at the Club Turquoise. What can I say, travelled to most of Med and elsewhere and can honestly say that this was the best holiday I have ever been on.Club Turquoise is absolutely fantastic, they treat you like they knew you all their life.My 2 girls aged 11 and 6 hardly wanted to leave the hotel.Food in hotel was better than anywhere else we ate and a lot better.
Questions I wanted to know before I went,
Mozzies - did not bother us at all.
Trips - my daughter and I did 2 try dives, with wife and youngest snorkeling and sunbathing, lazy boat trip, turkish bath with oil massage, and Atlantis water park for £110.Also went to talk of the town drag show £40.All very good booked with April travel agency.
DS games at market and readily available £50 for 114 games - all latest and working well
The Turkish people are the friendliest people I have come across,be prepared to haggle,we were not looking forward to it but it is a way of life there.
Also met Wilson and family,he is very knowledgable and was a great help to me whilst there. So thanks Wilson !
Any questions please ask and I will try to get get back to you.
Cheers Stevie C

You are dead right,If I had not agreed to go to Florida next year there would only be one place for me and the family. My 11 year old actually wanted to go there instead of Florida next year. That is saying something.

How wrong I was!! Been around 14 times now -to different areas, just love it!! The people are SO nice and SO helpful, the food is great, and the hotels are so clean and good value for money.!!
I will never go back to Spain, Cyprus, Malta etc, etc........
Denny
i agree with denny i will never go back to cyprus or spain turkey for me i went for the first time this year after years of hubby nagging me to go ...wish i had went years ago
don't knock it till you try it i say
there are some its not there cup of tea but most will enjoy a vist to turkiye
I think a lot of people have been put off Turkey, by watching the film "Midnight Express"
Just got back on Friday it was our 1st time to Turkey it was one of the best holidays we have had every thing was 1st class. The people were great ,apartment was spotless, food excellent.Only one place for holidays from now on cant wait to return.
Also, the Greek forums on here are very quiet, whilst this forum is very busy. Turkey is the only short haul country that doesn't have the Euro (i think) and this is the reason that we, and I presume many others, have opted to holiday in Turkey this year.
It's true to say that a lot of people are put off Turkey by false reports. We were, having first visited Turkey (Bodrum) on a day trip from Kos in 1996, we hated it. Four years later we plucked up the courage and booked 2 weeks in Hisaronu - Fantastic!
Anyone reading this who is thinking about coming to Turkey for the first time...Do it, you will not regret it.
Midnight Express is a great movie. Does it put people off coming to Turkey? I think not!
we returned from our first trip last saterday... Never again it was disastrous.. we will be sticking to Greece or the western med
i'm always suprised when people say they have been, and didnt enjoy turkey! although each to their own ive been going for the past 5 years and wouldnt wish to go anywhere else, its addictive! lol, roll on october!.x
hi brian, sorry to hear that, what went wrong?
didn't find any of these happy friendly natives you talk about, apart from the cleaners who were from abroad somewhere the hotel staff were sullen and miserable, not interested in their guest, TO's rep would not come out to sort the massive number of problems for around 15 families, even the some of the staff in the village taverns were the same.
just for a change it was not only the Brits that suffered but Dutch,Swedish,German all were in the same boat , but their reps were out every day,
it would take 3 pages to say it all but i has defiantly put us both off ever going again....its now made me really look forward to my October holiday in Greece,
really sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your holiday. As you know, we're fans of the Greek islands also and go most years. We did go to Turkey a few years ago (after much persuasion from hubby) and although it was a different experience to Greece, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely holiday apart from the hassle that most Turkey fans seem to think is all part and parcel of the holiday - well not for me. We said we'd more than likely return sometime- I think it's the memory of the hassling that's stopped us returning so far otherwise we would have long been back.
Have you written a trip report somewhere Brian? I'd be interested to read it.
We went in May to Club turqouise , i said you would have a great time , glad you did . we going back 14 for us in 3 weeks can't wait
we also went on day trips with April , just a quick question we never did turkish bath last time and want to know how long it takes and how much did you pay and was it good ?
Did you also have a one bedroom apartment if so how did you find the heat in the rooms at night as i know theres only air con in kitchen ?

They were looking for you at the darts the other morning. I just did the belly dance on your behalf. Nice to have met you and you lovely family. Second last day for me as I type. Yet another fantastic holiday. Do a full report on my return.
Wilson
I am returning to Turkey in 7 weeks time after having spend the last 2 big holidays in Egypt (which i loved by the way). When we went to Turkey for the first time OH wasn't that keen on the thought of going to Turkey but we got a good deal so we went, he loved it, Icmeler is such a lovely place as i am sure lots of Turkey is. I feel so sorry for people that have a bad time on their first trip out there and don't give it another try.
Ola
we have just arrived back from our first time in hissarono and it was fantastic we have been to marmaris and altinkim but mist say we enjoyed it here. there was no hassle at alll in the resort and plenty of things to see and do. we went to olu deniz very hot. also 2 boat trips 1 was just a fiver the other the sunset cruise fantastic.we also did a jeep safari great day out for all ages my garandaughter is 4.
Me and my family went to Turkey for the 1st time at the half term in May
There was myself my husband our 15yr old daughter and my parents we all absolutely loved Turkey
Like many of you i had refused to go to Turkey for years stating it held no interest for me
How wrong i was!!!! It was by far the best family holiday we have ever had despite being really ill for 2 days i still loved it so much that i am planning to return for a girls holiday with my sisters for 2 weeks in 2010
Anyone thinking of going please please do i was as sceptic as they come and have been thoughally converted you will love it
Kitten
Turkish bath took about 3 hours all in,as i said before kids loved it.We booked 4 trips and got a price for all 4 so could not really put a price on one trip.Don`t book trips with reps as they are so much cheaper at kiosks.
Ai con was in kitchen as said but with bedroom door left open and air conditioning is left on all day the whole apartment is nice and cool.
the hassle was mentioned by someone but believe me the hassle is not bad at all,we just kept walking and said no thank you and to a person everyone replied have a nice day, maybe another time, enjoy your holiday etc.I don`t know what it was like before but not bad now at all.
Family now complete Turkey converts.
Wilson enjoy your last 2 days and tell Chico that one of the diamonds in Sandra`s new ring fell out so I`m going to skin him !
