We flew out from Teesside on time with a half full plane and was in Dalaman 3 1/2 hours later so we did really good time.
I think the new Dalaman airport was great and we got more or less straight though no big queues.
The transfer to the resort was awful. We left Dalaman at about 3 am and we didn't get to our hotel until almost 7am!! . think we go by taxi next time.
We stayed at the Goldstone Hotel we had done our homework on this hotel and every report we had read had give it more or less 10 out 10 so we where expecting a nice friendly hotel...... we where wrong!!.....
we later learnt that the staff had changed at the end of Juneand almost all the staff where new.
No one came out to help with the case's no friendly hello from any of the staff nothing....
The room was small and basic but having gone with Gold trail before we knew what to expect.
The hotel bar was awful and i have to say i do not feel it to be good customers relations for them to tell YOU that it is time for bed and that you should pay your bill and leave!!!!
That is what happened one night at the hotel it was about 12.45 when everyone in the bar was given their bills asked to pay and leave!!
We along with others guests never drank in there again.
One our last day we where talking to some people who had been staying the hotel when had been and they said the night before they had come in and said good night to the bar staff who where sitting in the bar to be greeted with .... yes F.uck off!!
They reported this to the manager next day but we doubt anything was done about it.
The hotel pool was no bigger than a bath with little to no sun so went off the beach and it was great first time ever we have used the beach all the time.
A guest at the hotel told us about "Bobby's" beach The DEMiR Bar and Restaurant.
Bobby and his family where so friendly and we couldn't have asked for more.
The weather was so hot both night and day.
We went along and had a meal in the Indian. It was ok but i have to say we get better at home but the Aircon was great!
Went to Natiles and had a couple of meals there my husband said it was the best steak he had ever had.
We had a many drink on the roof top bar in 5 star Elegance Hotel.Anyone going to Marmaris has to go to the roof top bar it has great view over the whole of Marmaris.
We went down to the Harbour once and that was enough as we felt the hassle was worse down there and it was much more expansive.
Over all we felt the cost of meals and drinks hadn't gone up from last year and the meals where great value for money.
I think hassle is a little better than other years you still got a little hassle but not much.
We didn't like the New airport as much as the old one and felt the duty free was better in the old airport.
We flow with Onur Air as we had done a few times before but this time we got Charged £30 excess baggage!!!!! how we don't know as we had brought almost nothing in the resort at all.
On speaking to others in the airport we found that many had also been charged as well.
They not only weighted our luggage the also weighted our hand luggage and my hand bag.
The flight home was long it took us 4 1/2 hrs!
When we left for our holiday we said well this be our last time in Turkey but having been and come back both my husband and i feel we saw Turkey through new eyes this may be down to spending more time around the bars near Bobby's beach which is right up past Faros bar.
So to end... Hotel was rubbish Staff where worst i have known but over all the holiday was great we meet some very nice people and had a great time.
Looking forward to going back next year
