Hiya Kaz,

Nice to see you back!

As you know im going next year to these apts. :D

What did you think of them?

Are they walking distance to the centre of the resort and port aventura?

Any good/bad things to recommend?

thanks!

Hi Yvonne

Well the apartments were very spacious, got some footage for you but need to download it first. I must say they were a bit dirty on arrival, obviously the other holiday makers didnt clean their stuff before they left, cutlery, crockery etc dirty, and the floors filthy, but after a good mopping were fine. The maid comes to give the bathroom a very quick wipe! and do change your sheets once a week with clean towels (unexpected!)

the apartments are in a residential area so nice and quiet (not too quiet) so got some sleep in the night! about a ten min walk to salou itself and the beach, old salou a few mins round the corner. Very secure aparts, triple locking system on doors, and front and gate locked at night, 24 hr security on reception apart from lunch times.

Port Aventura out of this world, really enjoyed it, we went to Barcelona first and as we went on the tourist bus we got a ticket to get into Port A buy 1 get one free, so we went at 5pm and stayed until the end 12pm for the fireworks, dont miss it as its fab.

Salou is very family orientated, a little like Blackpool in the sun, but its so close to everything it didnt matter to us. We also went to Aquapolis/Dolphinarium, again fab, better than the Port A water park, spent the whole day there, the dolphins and seals were amazing, treated very well (i was apprehensive) and breed the dolphins too, best dolphinarium in europe apparently, dont miss it!

Good places to eat but very English based, Vines, Buddys good. Bit of a trek into town every night, but with the warm weather who cares?! 26 degrees at night so lovely and warm. the Salou fountains are nice, everyone having ice cream at midnight!.

Small pool but sufficent, got to know everyone staying in the aparts, loads of irish, dutch, french and spanish people staying in salou, not many english! surprising.

hope this info helps! overall we enjoyed it, beaches very clean although packed! will keep in touch

Hey Kaz,

Good being home huh? :(

I'd go along with pretty much everything Kaz said, very spacious, much bigger than I imagined, but the floors get dirty very easily. Maids didn't do a very good job before we arrived, as it was still a bit dirty, but I suppose that depends on how clean the previous occupiers were!

Thought the Salou nightlife was better than expected - went for a bit of a relaxing holiday after Tenerife last year! Have relaxing bars on the front, clubs and typical english/dutch bars in the centre which are all cheap. Avoid 'Kiss' nightclub though - full of underage chavs! Flashback looked the best of the nightclubs round Salou - make sure you go during the week for a free t-shirt! Pacha next to the waterpark in La Pineda looks the best of the bunch though. Tip: always ask for a free shot in the bigger bars/clubs - always works!

Imperial Salou was in a decent place - not bang in the centre but a short walk. Surrounded by typical spanish bars / bakers etc...Next to the train station aswell!

Port Aventura was class, as was the aquapark - not to be missed. Barcelona is not to be missed but is very hectic, especially on the train there and back which is always packed, and the high volume of tourists in Barca itself. Best to go for a weekend I'd imagine.

We were on the first floor on the appartments which was a bit crap, so try and get one on the upper floors if you can!

Here are a few pics of the rooms anyway!

Hi Yvonne

yeah we used the washing machine, it was spot on! Im sure you will enjoy yourselves. Plenty of supermarkets close by and fresh bread and croissants every day. It doesnt get too hot in the aparts as all the floors are tiled, you can hire a toaster and kettle in reception but as it was about 11 euro it would actually be cheaper to go out and buy one in Salou! We were on the third floor, as riggy said a bit more of an interesting view! you can see Port Aventura from the hotel and the fireworks at night.

A brilliant fridge freezer and microwave supplied. (grill in microwave, but very slow to work) You cant drink the water at all, they tell you that, but bottled water, (huge) only 70p from the supermarket. Changing travellers cheques, you can do that at the local spanish bank in old salou, commission free, handy! and plenty of places to change sterling to euro in salou itself. Loads of stuff for kids to do, on our last night there was a lot going on by the fountain, giant ants! (mad) entertainers,(good thing that i am a big kid!) the beaches are very clean and safe, shallow waters and life guards on duty. It was really cheap to eat out, and children are very welcome everywhere. bet you cant wait now!!!wish i was still there...sob :(

You are very welcome! no doubt i will remember some more info as time goes by and pop a few messages on here for you!
p.s they give you your deposit back in the morning and dont even check the rooms! strange, might be why some of the aparts are dirty!

We got back from Imperial Salou Apartments 2 days ago.
When we arrived it was spotlessly clean, maids came in and mopped floors and changed towels every 3 days.
We couldn't fault the place and the pool was small but, that made it friendly.
It's close to a large spanish supermarket and only took us about 10 mins to walk to the main beach and promenade.
Salou was great, we loved portaventura too. We didn't want to come home.
