sorry but it looks like its true! Laws remain in effect that prohibits the consumption of alcohol on the beaches of Magaluf. Glass bottles are also prohibited on the beach.

Good heavens

We go to Puerto Pollensa and usually have a picnic on the beach incorporating a can of beer for Mr Acorncup, and a DIY sangria (half fanta, half Don Simon tinto) for me

Obviously we are lowering the tone of the place............

it's like speed humps...why should the decent majority have to suffer because of a few nutters?

I think you'll find it's like a lot of things in Spain, they don't always enforce the law.

The prohibition of glass bottles is pretty common sense, and a tinny of Beer isn't going to see people arrested, but it gives the Policia the ability to clear the Beach of any drunken yobs.

I'm sure you and Mr A don't come into that category

Cheers

so am I right in guessing that there won't be any beach bars either? Or at least none that allow you to take your beers(in a plastic cup) onto the beach?
cheers

There are Bars right along the Beach, and I'd be very surprised if they cared where you took the Beer if it's in a plastic glass.
