Three fantastic weeks, weather brilliant. I am afraid we just totally chilled out so no great new adventures to tell you.
The apartment< Angelas Guest house, Sinquerim, fab plenty of space, immaculately clean. Such nice friendly people, Arthur (son) taxied us early hours of the morning to our apartment arranged coffee and a kettle, a must for me at 4.30am!!!.
We spent most of our days at the Calamari, to be honest the beach isnt up to much a little further on towards the fort there is nothing left, very sad. However, we were welcomed every day, our beds ready - newspapers delivered - a lovely well cooked breakfast, what more could you ask for.
We spent a few days at Zappas just off the beach road, I have been going there for years!!! can't beat them for their food in my opinion, OH enjoys it there but prefers to people watch at the Calamari.
Evenings in no particular order: Top Nosh - yes it most definitely is, beautiful meal very well presented, ate their a couple of times,
Tony's Place - Fish chips and mushy peas lol!!! - the best, Shivers - lovely setting, great food, quiz was a bit off putting, I dont think I had my thick head on but some of the questions - well didnt understand the questions!!!! - still the food was great.Curry House at Sinquerim, alwasy a fab meal , have eaten Indian, Chinese, European have put up with some of the worse entertainment known to man but still had a great time
My favourite - well of course the Bistro - fantastic.
No complaints whatsover, we have loved every minute of it - well not strictly true I would like a bed that doesnt resemble a brick!!!But apart from that
Our first visit to Goa was spent in Sinquerim ,many years ago.A little guesthouse called Village Belle.Magical memories. In those days you could walk for 10 minutes up towards candolim without reaching a restaurant.
The beach then was fantastic no River Princess to spoil the view. And very few shacks.
Have to agree with you one of my favourite pastimes in Goa is sitting on the sunbed just watching the world go by.

Sounds like you had a great time Roxey, is Shivers at the Sinqeurim end ?
Good to hear you enjoyed yourself.
is Shivers at the Sinqeurim end ?
Shivers is down towards Sinquerim & down the lane opposite Kingfisher Villa.
Thanks Max
glad you enjoyed your holiday Roxey, another good trip report. where is Top Nosh restaurant please, is it in Candolim?
Now.. is there also a place called Posh Nosh, or are people getting confused (or is it me ?), sure I heard/read about it last year.
Just a bit more info about the holiday, we travelled with Qatar from Manchester, it was a very pleasant and comfortable flight. Entertainment was excellent, I spent the time from Manchester to Doha watching episodes of Torchwood, brilliant The porters were there when we arrived at 3.30am. I did part with a couple of £1 coins and let them trundle our cases to the taxi.
There are plenty of sellers on the beach, they aren't too bothersome, a quick no thank you usually did the trick.
Hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys it as much as we did
thanks Spike, we will try this restaurant it sounds so good
Best wishes for 2010.
