I love listening to people on Karaoke. :)

Friends and family have tried for many years to get me to sing at Karaoke but I never have - until 2 years ago.
My husband wasn't impressed though - he wasn't there (had left him sick in the apartment - I'm a wife not a nurse! ;)
It was nerve wracking!
If (and that's a big if ) I ever do it again, I'll make sure I've had a few sherbets first! :cheers

Last time I did it was in France some years ago.

My delightful friend surprised me. I'm just sitting there having a jolly old time and all of a sudden my name gets called up! :duh

I had to get up there and sing Delilah (my friend said she was doing me a favour and making me think of home - Delilah is what the Stoke City fans sing) all on my lonesome. I could've died. :cry But she knew me well enough to know that I would always accept a challenge. :rofl

Aw, c'mon guys, who can resist 'sweet caroline' or that one by the monkeys, 'cheer up sleepy jean,' wether you're singing them yourselves or listening to some lovely old guy singing them, you so can't help yourself waving your arms to it or cheering them on !
have to admit , my personal favourite to sing is 'suspicious minds' and, no, I'm not afraid to grab whatever prop is handy to play with !
I respect the opinions of those that hate kareoke, but, I think its great that people will let their hair down and have a go on their holidays, mind you, it is a bit of a bore if the same people get up time and time again, specially if they are good !

Me and my Hubby have been known to sing a song or two if a karaoke is on. We would'nt particularly choose to go to a karaoke bar but have enjoyed a few good nights where that has been the entertainment. I have quite a good singing voice but I have always sang sober never ever with a drink in me, would never want to 'murder' a song like some, but it is good fun. My little girl just loves singing and it's a case of restricting her to a couple of songs at a time. She too sang twinkle twinkle little star when she was about 18 months old and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. And yes the reps still hold sing songs on the buses to excursions and back, at least on the last few trips we've done they have.

Sometimes it's not just the reps who initiate songs whilst on excursions http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/2.gif

I must really like karaoke, as how many of you would still get up to sing after falling off the stage, flat on your face whilst singing one time?? I'd had a few too many beers one boxing day, got up to sing and jig around. Unknown to me as I was dancing thinking I was the best thing ever, the microphone lead wrapped around my feet. The song ended, I stepped off the stage, only to take the whole karaoke system with me!!! That was a short lived boxing day, as I was so mortified, I went home. Thankfully most people were drunk, so took no notice.

I run the risk of being blasted here but anyhooo....................

I cannot stand it when you get a stream of kids up doing karaoke. They are in the main bleddy useless and too quiet or don't even know the song, but you have to sit there with a smile on your face and clap nicely for fear of getting beat up by sangria and lager filled mum and dad. :rofl

I'm gonna run off now, I have a feeling what I've just said will NOT be popular. :smokin

You're not alone Sandc,

We sat through 9 versions of Ba Ba blacksheep, 14 of Twinkle twinkle little star and a multitude of others one year in Menorca :yikes
Don't get me wrong I love kids, but there should be a limit as to what we should have to listen to. After all, Kids club had finished and the Karaoke was supposed to be for the adults, but by the time all the nursery rhymes had finished they only had time for 3 grown ups :que
Sorry if I've upset any parents, but I doubt I'm alone in this?
Wait for me Sandc, I'm right behind you :rofl
