Hi, me and my girlfriend are planning a trip to Kefalonia in September. There seems to be so many different places/areas of the island to stay that all offer something a little different so i was hoping to get a little help and advice.

• We don't want to be in the middle of nowhere but also not somewhere overly touristy
• We'd prefer a sandy beach to a rocky one but perhaps not one overrun by screaming kids! (sorry ;))
• Bars and restaurants for evening dining would be nice but discos or clubs are of no interest
• Definitely prefer to be on the "mainland" to avoid ferrying back and forth

We've browsed Sami, Aghi Efimia, Fiskardo and Argostoli but are non the wiser.
