Hi there - I'm looking for advice re: a transfer from Faro airport to Lagos. We will be arriving around 5.15pm and from surfing the net the taxi fares seem to be very expensive. We've found a company called Shuttledirect.com who are quoting very reasonable prices - has anyone used them ? We need to know if they're reliable & if they'll wait for us if the flight is delayed. Another option is low-cost-transfer.com run by a company called Transol. We have also considered using the train but it looks like there are no trains running after 6.30pm.
Also we've never been to the Algarve before - can anyone tell us what the weather will be like in early May ?
Any info or advice would be very welcome !!

Hire a car. Faster, easier, more independant, no multiple drop offs before yours, see some of the Algarve, probably works out cheaper as well.
. All going well you should have your luggage, your car and be in Lagos for just after 7pm

Agree with above - to see the best that the western algarve has to offer you really need a car anyway. You can get off the beaten track and find wonderful coves all to yourself. For us it is the loveliest part of the algarve.
Driving from Faro airport to Lagos will pose no problem for you - a good proportion of the way an be done on the motorway.
A good car hire company is Carjet - no excesses.

Thanks folks but we really don't want to drive, so hiring a car is out for us.
We're quite happy using the trains & buses on holiday..........let someone else have all that road rage !!

He sounds nice - we're off at the very end of April. Hopefully the weather should be good, although there are always glitches and the odd rainy day possible.

Alans a great bloke - we used him last year for the first time and have booked him again for this july
He is very helpful efficient and full of knowledge of the algarve

Hi we also used Alan last October, he was great, and so are his tours, I really recommend them. His knowledge of the area is fantastic.
