thanks

that s excellent thanks
Anyone stayed here recently? My friend is thinking about booking and the most recent reviews on some other sites have not been very positive compared to earlier ones. Have standards dropped or did the hotel just hit a bad patch? Has it all been refurbished now?
No it hasn't all been refurbished yet but the staff are wonderful and a newly refurbished room can't make up for those excellent staff, in every department of that hotel. They are without doubt the best staff we have ever come across yet.
My 2 children and I are staying in this hotel in 2 weeks time.
Can anyone tell me whether you can hire pool towels and most importantly a fridge in the room ??
Or maybe it comes with fridge, have no idea.
Any info would be much appreciated

If you are going half baord you will find that brekkie and dinner are very good, breakfast especially.
It is also very handy for Playa Dorada if you like beaches....
I can't recommend the place highly enough to be honest. Brilliant place!!!
We got it at a great price for half board in a family room. I'm not worried about refurbishment, as long as the pool area is clean for the children and the beach is near by.
Looking forward to those breakfasts !!!

It has just occured to me, I didn't make the fridge thing very clear., sorry..
What happens is this; you have a fridge in the room but you don't get the key until you put drinks in it which you pay for, and there is a small deposit (10E I think??) and a rental charge. If you buy drinks to the value of the rental charge then the rental is free, if you see what I mean!! I think thatis right from memory but if not I am sure someone else will correct me!!
I kept my aloe vera in it as well as soft drinks...
Have a brilliant holiday, I am sure you will....
Yes, that's the usual practise with fridges etc...will definitely pay up for one.
It's the first time I've been away with my kids, on our own and now it's getting close, I'm really looking forward to it.
My son put on suncream for school this morning, cos it's going to be hot here and the smell took me straight to that poolside lounger !!!!
Thanks for you help with this
Ali
Talk about rub it in....!!!
It is just about to haul it down here!!! Black as the ace of spades and really gloomy...AND thunder and lighning forecast for later....
Yes I know what you mean though, the smell of suncream has that effect on me too!!! Lucky you; it is a nice big pool btw, in fact I think there might tbe two at LP, and the poolside area is good too, they have "activities" based round there during the day for adults and kiddies, pitch and put, archery and darts etc...
FGS, I am making myself sick with envy here!!!

Yahhooo..this time next week....me and the kids will be on that plane !!!
Foodwise not very good, everyone thought the themed meals were laughable. The rest of the hotel is up to standard however and bar prices were surprisingly reasonable. I would return on the basis of it being one of the few places close to the centre of Playa Blanca and the decent Playa Dorada beach, but realistically the rooms are of 2 star standard.
It really is time that all the hotel bedrooms had been refurbished and not fair if you are one of the unlucky ones and paid the same price as everyone else.
H10 must keep up their standards as the competition for good hotels in Lanzarote is very high with all the new ones opening. Their other hotel in Playa Blanca, Timanfaya Palace, I still love, but even there the standards have dropped since it first opened.
The Princess is still a nice hotel, centrally positioned and near a great beach. It has a nice pool area but you do not want a 3rd rate room for the price you pay.
Foodwise not very good
Oh dear, that's a shame.
I've stayed there twice (not since 2002 though) and was very impressed with the meals.
Standards must have dropped in the last few years.

I am staying at the Princess for the 3rd time this summer. The hotels excellent staff, wide variety of food, and good location outweigh the dated rooms in my view, if you get allocated one. The hotel bars are good value compared to places in the resort, and busy on a night. The piano bar is very relaxing.
So to anyone who going look beyond the rooms and enjoy the whole hotel.
The food was excellent when we stayed in December, can't please everyone, we usually eat out every night but didn't once there.
Also any info on room type appreciated. My travel offer a triple for 2A and 1C but is this a family room with the sort of partition and sofa bed. Every TO is different and I'm getting confused (not difficult).
