Lanzarote Princess Refurb

I am thinking of booking for early Feb - can anyone tell me whether the refurb has been completed or whether this is still going on. Reviews seem to show that the hotel is dated but the refurbed rooms are ok

Hi. Think they are still refurbing from what I've been reading elsewhere. The rooms were ok on my last visit 12 months ago. Been quite a few times and never had a room issue. I go 2 weeks today.

we went last christmas they were refurbing but didnt cause any probs to us.we thought it was a lovily hotel but we arnt fussy.i do like a good view so i moaned when we turned up and our view was spoilt by big trees i phoned reception and they moved us the next morning.i would love to go back there and will one day.

Does anyone know if its possible to upgrade to AI from half board? I've looked on their website and I cannot see anything about it.

Lanzarote Princess H10, Playa Blanca

Hi there, has anyone been to this hotel recently that can confirm which rooms have or have not been refurbished; we have booked a week holiday from 24 September and would normally request a room on the top (3rd?) floor but prefer knowing before requesting this; any other tips/hints would be most welcome! thanks in advance.

The rooms on the right hand side corridor as you come out of the lift on the 3rd floor were being refurbished as I was leaving there in June, they should be ready now.

We are booked to go here in 4 weeks time - can't wait! Anyway, we are booked into a family room. Am I right in saying these are all on the ground floor? And also, does anyone know if these have been refurbished or if there is any particular room that has been refurbished that we could request?

Any info that anyone can give me about this place? Meals good? Entertainment? Staff friendly? And also, what should the weather be like mid October? How warm during day, and how warm through the night?

BLC and Barjiash, just wondering about you emailing the hotel directly and requesting refurbished rooms. Did you book this hotel directly or was it through a travel agent? Just wondering if you can still do this when you have booked a package from First Choice?

Hi, if i remember correctly we were on a Thomson package holiday and i e-mailed the hotel direct to ask for a newly furbished room and they duly obliged,here is the e-mail address i used:

Thanks for that tip. It's a Thomson holiday we are on, but we booked it at First Choice, so we'll give that a go.

We only booked with them last monday, so will leave it a week or so to make sure they have our details.

Hi,we enjoyed the central location of the hotel,we had previously stayed in the Timanfaya Palace which is a little further away towards the lighthouse.We especially enjoyed the happy hour they did at around 5-6pm not quite sure of the hour but for each drink bought you got another free. :tup

Yeh I saw your other posts. Can I ask, how long before you were going there did you email them? Just wondering if it is too early and if they will even know about our booking yet. We go, 4 weeks tomorrow.

What details did you give them in the email, just name or full name and address? A booking reference from Thomson? Did you wait til you had all your tickets and take info off of them?

Sorry for all the q's, just hoping my email isn't dismissed byt hem as they can't find our booking yet.

Hi, not sure how long before we went i e-mailed them, but i think a couple of weeks before with your name / travel co and dates and your request should be fine.They do respond and acknowledge your e-mail.

Hi again just checked my e-mails and i sent it 17/03/08 for a booking 23/04/08 so a month in advance along with the booking ref number,names and request,hope that helps ,send your e-mail now!

Just wanted to say thanks BLC for the tip. I got an email back yesterday afternoon saying that all the family rooms are refurbished, so we'll defo get a newer room, and that they will put my request for a poolside room on the booking.
