Hi all,
we are getting married in st pauls bay next september, we have booked a villa rather than a hotel in Lardos, can anyone tell me what its like there, how big the resort is and whether we would be best to book our reception in Lardos, or Lindos. I know it isn't too far from Lindos but am not sure how big the actual resort is.
We would also like to book a hotel for a couple of nights for the wedding night and the next one, as we will have family camping out in our villa for a few days so want a bit of privacy so if anyone can recommend a nice hotel for this it would be greatly appreciatted.
thanks in advance!
Lardos is a fairly small resort and has more of a village atmosphere. There's a handful of bars and restaurants in the centre and a few more on the coast road towards Pefkos. It's a pleasant resort but definitely one for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Pefkos is in walking distance for a wider choice of restaurants and Lindos is around 10 mins by taxi.
You'll have a greater choice of restaurants in Lindos for your reception and some of the roof top restaurants have great views. The restaurant above Luna Bar is v popular for wedding receptions but everyone has their favourites.
As for hotels, if you don't mind splashing out a bit the new hotel Melenos is the only hotel in the centre of Lindos, it's very special but then so is the price! Lindos Mare in the next bay (Vlicha) is a very good option if your funds don't stretch that far or if you're looking for somewhere with a pool.
Cathy.
Lardos is a small local village which is situated in land, if you are here, then you are not walking distance and it's about 2k to the beach
HOWEVER! As soon as you leave pefkos there is a sign saying welcome to Lardos, and stretching about 2 miles along the coast are all the fancy hotels etc. Which some may be walking distance. (this is considered as Lardos too).
Sorry if i don't sound positive but i wanted to give you the correct info.
Both places are beatuful though, and you'll have a fab time, i'm getting married on May 29th there!
I lived in Pefkos and if i walked from my office into the centre of Lardos it took no more than 40 minutes .
I guess Pefkos has grown alot over recent years so if you walked from the furthest part of Pefkos it may take longer but an hour and a half seems a bit of a trek.
Must be those little mouse legs!!!

The villa we have booked is in the village of lardos rather than the beach, but we have a car booked as well so travelling a bit wont be a problem.
Thanks for all the advice.
Cathy
