It would be appreciated if you could update our reviews page for the Carriage House.

Ha Ha, 2011 already eh?

Well, we will probably go early September again but won't stay at the Trump since it's 10 degrees hotter at their pool! We might stay at Platinum, love it there. Will probably split between 2 hotels rather than 3, and will probably only do 10 or 11 nights. A lot of probablys and mights! I can't imagine not going to Vegas though! Right now flights are £627, and although tax has gone up, it's not that much. I'm still hoping to get for under £500, since the last 2 years have been in the low £400s. I think we were actually only £420 including 5 nights at the Orleans last year! So roll on some good deals and who knows we may even book! Platinum isn't coming up on Expedia for the dates I put in, so might be booking flight only this year. Last few years we've done flight + some nights but not all, so we can split. We seem to get a good deal booking that way as they discount the price and we also get a higher rate on Quidco that way.

Before that though, I'd like to go to India. Hubby agreed to go next year (accidentally let his guard down I think :D ) so I am seriously thinking about that. Been having a look, and started off thinking Delhi/Agra etc, then moved onto Goa, but now I'm back to the Delhi idea. Shame, seems you can't easily do both in one trip. So that would be either January or up to April depending on where we go. Then maybe a wee break for our anniversary in June. Then Vegas.

Undecided at the moment.Have booked Grand Canaria for end Jan(OH has a special b day)
Booked Cruise to Med for July (Silver Wedding)

Hope to go with gang from our town 10 of us in all....plans seem sketchy and up in the air with regard to when and how long for....there was talk of 5 days NY and 5 in Vegas but I can't seem to pin anyone down to anything firm......me thinks these plans may be a bit pie in the sky as far as most of them are concerned and I'm willing to bet majority will back out once monies are asked for.

Anyway that said OH doesn't fancy to go back in Sept if we are going on our own so I can't see us returning until May 2012

Lets hope the group thing comes to fruition or I'll have to wait

Flight prices for Sept 2011 look identical to this year currently, which isn't bad considering the tax goes up! I can currently get a PE flight in last week of Sept for £1094 or with miles it comes down to £953. My problem is I can't actually book holiday at work yet!! I'll probably wait until Virgins January sale (they usually have one) and see what happens with the prices then

TeeCee, are you talking per flight? Do you fly from Heathrow?

I can't get a decent price at all. Still up at £580 or over £600 depending what dates. If I see them under £500 I'd be tempted to book.

Why did I moan about the heat at the Trump pool when it's so cold in Scotland!!! :rofl Just as well Vegas isn't hot in winter, or I'd be seriously thinking about it right now. I did look up New Year, but then remembered it could be quite cold!! I can't imagine Vegas being cold!

Our flights for next May were £525 flying MAN - PHL - LAS with US Airways. Exactly £100 more than last year. I've seen the same flights at £518, but they did get as high as £620!!!

We will be there from 20th April to 16th(?) June next time. :tup :tup :tup :cheers

Hope to meet up with some of you again.

Flights were per person flying from London airports....can't remember if it was LHR or GTW, on the Virgin Atlantic website.
I paid exactly that price last year for our P.E. flights in mid Sept. from GTW.

OMG pebbles, another long trip coming up, eh! That must be about 8 weeks! Do you have hotel plans yet? Or any plans for car hire, stuff to see etc?

TeeCee, I take it that it's because it's PE that it's pricey. I suppose once you start that you will always want to use it where possible. Hopefully that means I can get my flight at similar price as last year, we are keeping an eye on prices, but don't usually book till January when the airline sales are on (here's hoping!).

Meanwhile, I need to decide where else we want to go next year.......

We are on the last few days of our latest marathon trip. The next one in 2011 is 53 days and so far we haven't booked any hotels. We moved three times this trip. Tony wants to stay longer in each place next time, I was happy with the three moves. We had a car each time, so the luggage wasn't a problem.

I'm hoping for some offers (not free, but cheaper) we'll see what happens. We have plenty of time to sort out the accommodations now the flights are booked.

We are Star Silver with US Airways, and we have just got the confirmation email about our upgrade to first class. I'm excited! (But won't believe it until it happens.)

Im going at the end of June with my daughter and my sisters. Its my first time to Vegas and really looking forward to it. The reason for it is my 16 yr old daughter has always wanted to see Celine Dion so I thought I would treat her for xmas/birthday. The flights were 598 each with virgin, a bit more than I thought they would be, and the celine tickets were 98. We havent booked hotel yet but wanted to be on the strip so if anyone has any hints or tips on cheap hotels or sites to look on would be grateful. Also if anyone could recommend any other shows whilst we are there that would be good also. Thanks Diane.

Congratulations on getting booked.

We saw Celine's "A New Day" which was a big production show. I believe the new show is more singing that the big theatrics, but I'm sure you will enjoy it.

HERE is a topic on hotels. I would settle down with a coffee as it's quite long, but I think there is some good information there on sites to try. Although the hotel offers have expired, it will give you an idea of possible rates although I think next year will be a little more expensive.

The promo offers for next June won't be out until about Feb/March although there are one or two MGM properties with offers well into next year. Try http://www.smartervegas.com Sign up for email alerts.

How long are you going for and what is your budget per night? Be aware that Friday and Saturday rates are more than double the Sun-Thurs rates.

What type of shows are you interested in, eg musicals, comedy, magic, etc?

Jersey Boys is a great show as is Terry Fator. He's a ventriloquist, but don't let that put you off as he is very funny. The Cirque du Soleil shows are very popular. There are sometimes good offers on some of the shows which are worth booking in advance. However you can get tickets up to half off at Tix4Tonight or VegasTix4Less.

You can see which shows are available HERE, but don't book on that site as it is expensive.

Once you have an idea where you want to stay and which shows you fancy post back and I'm sure you will get advice on the best places to book.

We had a week in Vegas last year, at the Imperial Palace. It seriously needs some TLC. Because we were Vegas virgins it seemed the easiest choice so we could have parking.

Going again in April 2011, provisionally booked at the Flamingo. Again, concerns about parking are in my mind. Driving's not a problem, just where to shove the car when I get somewhere. Any suggestions?

Actually flying from London to Washington first for a week, then across to Vegas for a week, and then from Vegas back.

:queI don't understand this.:que I would not make parking affect my hotel decision.

ALL Las Vegas hotels have free parking. They have valet parking for free too. (Just tip the attendant)

I would let it affect my decision in some situations. I would prefer not to stay at Planet Hollywood with a car, because the parking is very far away. Also Platinum have no self parking and I hate valet parking. That said, we only take a car for part of our trip, so we just plan around that. I like Orleans with the car. I also suspect Tropicana might be good. Downtown I don't think parking is free, but might be if you are a guest. There's quite a few good options though. I also think TI is good with a car. MGM not so good (far to walk, and not terribly safe feeling).

Golden Nugget - downtown does charge for parking but if you are staying there you get your money back so in affect it is free.
I haven't got a problem parking at any property to be honest, you know you'll ALWAYS get a space. Distance isn't an issue because I drop the missus at the entrance with the cases then go park! ;)

Cheers,

TC

Ah, I see TeeCee.

My husband refuses to even drive over there never mind drop me at an entrance!! :rofl It's not that I don't like walking (plenty of opprortunities to walk in Vegas!!), but I'm thinking if I was carrying stuff back from the car. We've often got quite a lot of shopping and maybe some soft drinks etc that are heavy.

That said, if I loved a place, it probably wouldn't be enough to put me off! Someone (some of you will know here - Rhonda from LVTalk) did once point out to me though that the parking lots aren't terribly safe. She said she always valet parks because she's often on her own. I would never feel unsafe say at the Orleans car park. MGM, I don't like terribly much, feels a bit desolate. I've not been in a lot of them though so can't comment on many others.
