Platinum is £1650 with flights 5-17 Sept and room 9-13, leaving the 4 nights either side free. Rio is $35 for the first 4 nights, then one at $35 and 2 at $45, last one at $75. I've calculated that at £233 total for the 8 split nights at Rio which is really quite good........
Not mad at all. That's the kind of thing we do.
Starting off with three nights at the Cabana Suites Downtown. Will see what comes along for the rest.
Good grief pebbles, that will be 4 months in Vegas this year! It can't be that long until your next trip.
Two months, three days to be fairly accurate.
I think you're just greedy for Vegas.
Hey, I think we're booking tomorrow night at last. Prices have come down a touch today, looking at the middle 4 nights at Platinum, then will book Rio for the 4 either side, and can cancel or change them if we want later. Will happily stick with Platinum for the middle 4 and get our washing done etc. Prices better not blooming go up overnight!!
Did you get a super deal Pebbles? Did you look up the Rio on your total rewards? You might get some nights at $35, which I think is just fab!
We've got the Rio at $35 for this next trip. We'll probably wait a while before booking anything for this second trip. I still haven't got the whole time of the first one sorted yet.
Ah, well Pebbles better get the first trip sorted first then.
Would any Total Rewards members mind logging in and telling me what prices they are getting for Rio for 3-17th September? I was getting $35 but I'm getting only the regular rate of $49 now (same as when I'm not logged in). Thanks.
Not signed in I got $45, $179 and $189. Signed in I got $35, $45 and $160.
There is a 10SALE code which was accepted when not signed in, but it didn't take the 10% off. However once signed in it said it wasn't valid.

I was really after the 5-9th and 13-17th. I finally logged in to total rewards, then used a London Clubs link and it got me the $35 offer again. so we got $35, $ 35, $35, $35, then $45, $45, $45, $75. Happy now. and we've booked our flights and the Platinum for the middle 4 nights.

But that's not what you said!

Good to hear you are booked. Did you get it at a decent price? Flight prices have rocketed for this year.

First post on here, although an active member on many other Vegas forums.
We have often thoght of staying at the Rio but we take our son and my wife always says the pool looks to busy/ to adult (if that makes sense) any comments?
Thanks
I think their system must have been playing up, since I had to use the Player Rewards (London Clubs) thing to get the better rate last night.
Flights were just over the £650 mark on their own, but we got flight + platinum (4 nts including weekend) for £803 each. Plus we'll get 3.5% quidco (higher on flight + hotel than flight only), so it's £774 each. Yes, prices are silly this year for the flights, at least the hotel set up has kept it under £1k each. To think we got flight + 4 nights at Orleans (labor day, starting sunday of that weekend), for £420 in 2009! Quite annoying. I guess the fuel prices aren't helping either. I tried holding off, but the prices don't seem to be budging, and only having US or Continental to compete with each other from Glasgow there's not really a lot of competitiion either. Continental are usually more expensive anyway.
Good to be booked though
Pebbles - I know I've read all your posts and trip reports etc but need to ask.....what do you do in Vegas for two months? As much as we love it, I'm not sure we could do 2 months...although saying that if I was there for 2 months I would have a few mini city breaks in other places too to break it up a bit.
I'm a little disappointed for myself as after getting the good offer from BlueChipVegas on a Signature suite, I dropped Luxury Suites Int'l a note to ask for their prices (ok, I was playing them off against BlueChip, mentioning the good price I had been offered) but after using LSI 3 or 4 times in total now, I thought that a bit of loyalty may come in to it.....they haven't even bothered replying to my mail, I sent it about a week ago now! I'm going to give it until the end of tomorrow then I think I'll book through VRBO.
Cheers
TC

We always intend to do the road trips, but never seem to get around to it. We might drive to LA one of these days, or maybe fly to SF for a few days.
Our daily routine is similar to when we are at home TBH. Tony does his exercise while I have a lie in, then we get ready for our day. We're both retired, and I'm sometimes not well during the trip. It makes it better for me when I don't need to rush to get everything done. Tony likes to sunbathe, and I like to read in the shade, that takes up a good amount of time.
We usually do only one or two meals a day. We have a toaster, kettle and coffee machine that stays in a friend's garage when we're not there. We may have a buffet meal, or a dinner in a restaurant with friends.
We go to a few shows during that time, usually two or three a week. I can take or leave some shows, but Tony loves them, and I'm getting used to just going with the flow. We meet up with our friends for shows as well as meals.
We also hike in the surrounding areas with our friend, who is a volunteer at Red Rock and is currently mapping out the mines and rock art in the area for the history society. He suggests a lot of things for us to do. If it's just Tony going on a hike, then they usually do some more adventurous routes, the ones where I go too, tend to be more sedate.
I'm on a few message boards, and meet up with people from there. This time we will meet Kiddo from WBTALV at the beginning of our trip, Then Luci from here, then Tom and his OH from WBTALV, then some others from elsewhere. We have a USA cell phone so keep in contact with the people to arrange meets when they arrive.

A few pics from my fb page. Let me know if you can't see them.
I can view them but only all on the one page, can't open each individually. They look great, and it does look like you do Vegas a bit differently from us. Looks like fun though, but maybe not things you'd manage to get round to on shorter trips.
Is that Norm you meet up with? We met him at a LVTalk meet, seemed like a nice guy! Was funny to see he ended up with my ACG last year. Speaking of which, I need to get one of those ordered! Not even checked what coupons there are yet!
Jukie - We stopped by the pool area at Rio for a nosey last trip and it did seem a little busy. TeeCee has gave me directions to a quiet spot though Not sure if it is too adult, I've never really seen a lot of kids in Vegas so in a way they all seem quite adult.
There were a lot of children in the pool area at Rio on Memorial day last year. There was a separate topless pool, but I believe that is gone now.
Glad you have managed to get booked Lesley. Let the planning commence!
