Booked Norwegian Jade, sailing 29 September for 10 nights boarding at Athens, and disembarking at Istanbul. Cost was $937, approximately £650 cruise only. They have a one-day offer sale on certain NCL cruises. Have been tracking this one for a few months now, and this is a really good price. On the UK NCL website it is close to £900 for the inside guarantee we have booked. Flights from Gatwick are £75pp return with easyjet and we are planning on a couple of nights in Athens pre-cruise and one night in Istanbul post-cruise.
If anyone out there has any tips on getting from/to airports etc. at Athens and Istanbul, please post or PM me.
Today I received a flyer from cruise-n-more about special deals with NCL. Being a curious character, I went in for a look and to my horror discovered that the Black Sea cruise, which we booked at $937 each was now down to $770 each.....was not happy, I can tell you!
Have just completed a fairly lengthy call with them asking to price drop and, initially, it was point blank refusal as the current price is for "new bookings only". Not being one to take a no when looking for a yes, I explored the cancellation situation with the guy. In the USA if you cancel, all deposits ($800 in our case) are refunded in full, and I was told that only a $75 cancellation fee would apply for the booking. I said OK, cancel the booking....he said, if you are thinking of doing that and re-booking their system will refuse your booking because the details would be identical.....I said OK, we will use a different address then.....he said, can you hold till I talk to NCL directly....I said, of course.....he came back and said, a new invoice will be prepared reflecting the lower price to be issued within 24 hours. Just shows you what they can get away with if you do not stand up, and also that because of the way the deposit system works in the UK such an outcome would never be achieved. The Americans do not stand for it, so neither did I.

There was a £341 cabin yesterday morning for the 24th the 29th has been off for ages.
for the US it is only http://www.ncl.com and fill in the fields.
The 5 night Jade on 24th is back on again, but prices not that great for a last minute....£350ish for inside guarantee, excluding service charges.
Fred Olsen have a 2 nighter, on for £99 for the 29th May

Me I'm still not booked June keeps saying it is too expensive and it is really £2450 for 2B balcony and £1845 for the grade 9 inside. Ali keeps extending the option on it for us BUT! There is only now 1 2B left and unless there are a lot of cancellation at the 90 day final payment don't hold out much hope. I could get the 26th June for £1245.

IMHO no, it is not a particularly good deal for that time of year. You will get a far newer ship & better cruiseline for that money!

Naming agents is not a problem as long as it is a deal, if on TXT then the page also helps narrow it down for Thomson it is usualy pg227 anyway. so this is probably the cruisedeals advert.
I think that is OK with the AI, it will depend on how much you use the AI though, £100+pppw is not hard if you drink a bit and the flights worth another £50+pp so the cruise fare is <£50pppd which is fine as it includes basic tips as well.
It is likely that there will be deals on other better ships at lower a cruise price but if AI and budget is key then with this you know where you are.
Just to say I agree with W/J, if drinking significantly is your thing....bear in mind it is x 2 people if one or other does not drink much!

I have to admit my wife and I do like to drink on our holidays.
I like my brandy and port and my wife likes cocktails. Therefore, for us anyway, I think that we would get more then our monies worth using the A/I upgrade

Yes it definitely includes tips. Regarding AI, there is a charge for "premium drinks". Cocktails should be mostly OK, apart from the most exotic ones, but brandy and port would be regarded as premium drinks, I would imagine!!
We are not drinkers, but I remember when we were on the Thomson Spirit noticing that Drambuie was included in the AI, but Baileys was considered as a "premium drink"!!
