I'm slightly edging away from Jules Verne at the moment. Ive seen the light and a £100 a head is a LOT per person when I'd just be as happy eating a £3 McDonalds. The view is great, but also I've come across Ciel de Paris, which overlooks the Eiffel Tower which is even better as I get to see it as I eat, then walk over there and go up it!!
Has anyone ever tried this restaurant out?? Any reviews on it? Ive seen the website for it.
The only thing also, perhaps I might post in general chat as well, is the Set Menu - not much choice on it. Mains are 2 meat 2 fish....not great if you dont like fish and the meats are veal and duck. Is the food nice and is veal the meat where they dont let the calfs see daylight etc.. or is that venison?? HELP!! Im not a refined eater!!... BUT then again, this might be the summer menu....Im not sure
I wish I could say that I'd been to any of the restaus you describe!! All I can suggest is a sneaky trip to a good booksellers and have a look and see if this restau is mentioned in a reputable guide - eg Gault Millau or Michelin. Bon appetit!
their is a small place near to the tower as well you may want to try on a different night its on Avenue Du Maine and is next door to the Trancontinental hotel(good hotel) cant remember the name but typical french , wonderful food and cheap , i have eaten there lots and have recommended it to others and never had a bad report , i was actually recommended it by a regular customer of eurostar who uses the hotel and restaraunt on a monthly basis
heres some reviews for Le Ciel http://www.hiptravelguide.com/paris/reviews-40.html
