wouldnt ecpect libra and more specialist to be out for a few more months
On them it says under the date of issue -
'Please reconfirm your return flight'
I called Libra and they said that the rep will do that in resort. What does this mean? Im
If you have booked a package - flight & hotel then you will have a rep who will confirm these details with you.
fwh
Thanks fwh, I will check with the rep when we are there.
We have booked a Libra holiday for next year going to Rhodes, and flying from Bristol , Cardiff wasn't an option which we would have liked as we live in Newport.
I get asked this question a lot. As FWH says, package holiday guests do not need to confirm flights. The TO will tell you of any changes.
Don't even give it another thought.

I seeked her out the next day and she never mentioned anything so asked her if she contact her HO. She said "oh yes and you don't need to confirm the flights" I could tell she was lying and hadn't contacted her HO.
Arrived at the airport at 2pm checking in for the flight from Zurich to Amsterdam and then Amsterdam to Aberdeen to be told by the check in girl that the flight from AMS to ABZ (which was not due to depart until after 8pm) was full and only one seat left!!!! We couldn't do anything about it until we arrived at AMS so we had an extremely stressful time. Upon arrival at AMS staff were completely dis-interested, told us they overbook all the time and we should have confirmed the flights. We eventually found out we had got the second required seat 15 minutes before the flight was due to take off which also meant hubby was sat at the front of the plane with poor me sat at the back completely stressed out and stuck on my own with my fear of flying!! Needless to say we complained to Thomsons about this and some other matters and received £50 compensation.
Booked through Libra going to Rhodes August next year, have had confirmation of booking . question is when will we know flight code, seems funny that they can give you times for flying but not the actual flight number, or can i expect the time's to change nearer the date . The airline is XL from Bristol.
The company I work for (not Thomson) has approx 30 flights a week and I have on average between 100 - 150 departing guests a week. It is not possible for me to confirm flights for all these folks.
All the resort office do when you call is check that it is still due to depart on time - the same time as you have on your tickets.
Overbooking it not something the resort office has access to check, they don't see the flight manifest for all the passengers, only their own so they would not know about overbooking unless the flight was wholly theirs and not shared with another TO, even a sister company.
Hope this makes sense.

We have been on 3 holidays in the last year with Sky Holidays which are the direct selling arm of Libra. They do the exact same holidays as Libra but are quite a bit cheaper. By the way we had 3 very good trips.

Always worth checking the 2 companies as I have booked with Libra the last 2 times because they were cheaper than Sky

Merged with existing topic which may have some information
When we were in Parga this year we were staying in the Andreas which is owned by the owners of Synthesis travel who were the local agents for Libra and they told me that Libra were pulling out of Parga and going to concentrate on Sivota
Not sure the date shows as Feb 6th wonder if it's because Luci merged a the post above it?? Will ask the techies.
I bumped it so it would be easier to find for merging. Now that I have found that bumping changes the date of the last post I shall be using a different method for merging.
We are still learning how to use the new software and finding out its little foibles.

My daughter and her friend were holidaying on Kos, a package holiday booked with Libra Holidays. Their original flight home was with XL and therefore cancelled but Libra told them that there would be an alternative flight to take them home at 2:45am on Saturday. They were collected from their apartments at midnight and then literally abandoned at the airport. Apparently the rep only works Saturdays and so dropped them off at the airport and then went home. My daughter said there were about 100 people outside the airport who had no idea what was happening..... They were not even allowed to go inside they airport except to use the toilet or buy food. There was no 2:45am flight and they had no idea what to do or where to go and more importantly no rep to help them.
I know things are difficult just now and they did expect a long delay but Libra Holidays are still in business and I feel that they should still be taking care of their customers!
Fortunately they had some money left and could buy food and drinks but they couldn't check into a room or anything as they didn't know what time they would be leaving - it could have been 2 hrs, it could been 2 days - they just didn't know. There were families there with young children and very little money and they hadn't even been given any vouchers for food or drinks. Another couple approached a rep from Olympic holidays to ask for help and the reply was "You people will just have to get out of the way" so much for other holiday companies helping out.
I have just heard from her that they are hoping to be home later this afternoon but there's still no sign of any reps from Libra Holidays.
My question is, do Libra Holidays have an obligation to look after their customers until they leave? If they do is this just a moral obligation or is it a legal obligation?
Who, other than Libra Holidays can I complain to about this? They are not looking for compensation or anything as they understand that times are difficult with the XL collapse but I just feel that Libra Holidays have behaved very badly in all this.
surely they must have a 'moral' obligation as a minimium, don't know about legal.write to Libra Holidays and vent your anger
EDIT: Sorry, this post has been edited as rumours are circulating about a lot of holiday companies at the moment, but we prefer to concentrate on substantiated fact.
