Have just had an invite from a relation to come over and visit. They live In Savannah, Georgia.
We can only holiday in school holiday times. Have had a trawl through various sites but the flight prices are horrendous. Can't even seem to save anything by flying to Orlando or any other major city within 3 or 4 hundred miles of Savannah.
Any ideas?
Fly charter to Orlando (get a last minute flydrive for about £200) and then drive up...make sure that your car hire company will let you take the car out of state though! Or get a cheap flight from Orlando up. Or take the Greyhound if you don't mind mixing with slightly unhinged people!
Have you investigated airpasses in the USA? And you can always go by train - as we are this summer. Look at Amtrak's web site for information.
Try flying into Toronto and flying, train or a bus down to Georgia
Cheap flight to a major US hub such as NY or Chicago (use a less popular airline for UK travellers - Air India, PIA etc as it's often cheaper) then low cost internal flights to your destination - Airsouthwest, Jet blue etc.
