Well i'm back after 4 weeks in south Goa, this report is not so much a holiday report as an adventure of which I for the main enjoyed, but there are parts I pray never happen to me again or happen to anyone else who go to Goa.
Fay(my Daughter) got me to B'ham airport for 6'oclock on the 10th of Dec for my Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt, she got me in and into a wheelchair inside 10 mins and kissed me tata, and to be honest, except for just being dumped at the various airports because I am in a wheelchair I enjoyed my journey to Goa, Lufthansa are roomy and comfortable, the seats have quite high backs, which for me at 6'1 tall is a bonus, the change of plane at Frankfurt for Mumbai was easy, and after a 3 hour wait my flight with India air went well, only about 50 on board of the air India plane, as I am in a wheelchair I am straight through the airport, I went and got some rupees from the atm and got a taxi to Benaulim for 420 rupees, it is now 7'oclock in the morning and I am on the way to the La moure, so I was pretty pleased with myself as this is my first trip since Lynn died and as she always did everything for me I was happy to do it for myself without any problems.
I got to the Lamoure, out of taxi, gave him his tip, and off he goes, my first problem, no sir you are not booked in here, said the young man behind the counter, i am booked in and I want to see the manager, I am the manager said the youth, I showed him all the proof that I was booked in and showed him the email from someone called Alves, the youth was alvis, and as soon as he did that thing with his head I knew I was dead in the water, opposite the La mour is a small complex called O'palma, they could put me up for the month for 600r per night, I took it.
If a broucher discribed the O;palma they would say 20 beach side cottages set in a coconut grove 100yards from the beach, with a double bed, bedroom furniture, toilet and shower and with your own small balcony, well it had a cold water shower, the water just trickled out, it had a toilet, no paper supplied,a double bed in the middle of the only only other room with a half wardrobe in the corner there is also a small table plus 2 chairs, one sheet on the bed and 2 pillow cases, the whole place was very dirty, and for the month that I was there nobody came to clean or sweep, and they only changed the bedding only once, it was 8.30 on my first day, the nearest shack was Funny's 100yards from my front door, so off I went for breakfast, Isat there for about an hour, the only people I saw in that time were fishermen and men armed with machine guns, over the rest of the day I saw very few holiday makers, I went back to my room for a nap, when I got up I sat on my terrace and listened to the crow fighting for possition in the coconut trees, I can see the beach from were I was sitting, and like a pheonix rising from the ashes above trees came from the came a ruddy great balloon, something I was going to see every day.
After a shower it was off to Pedro's for my Rogan josh and garlic naan, it was poor 6 bones and a lump of fat, it was 99rupees plus 30r for my naan 2 bottles of kings at 30r each, I thought a couple of honeybee at funny's and then to bed, the television was on at funny's( as it was all day every day) I sat at the front of the shack, there was nobody about, I sat listening to sea breaking on the shore, I was tired, I had a couple of drinks(idon't drink in England)and just as the Mud classic you will be lonely this xmas come over the loudspeakers, I looked at the empty chair beside me and cried like a baby, with servettes clutched to my face a hand came on to my shoulder, it was manesh, who I have known a few years, he said it's all right papa Danny we understand, so it was off to bed happy in the knowledge that i was with friends.
When I write next time, I will tell of a side of Goa I didn't know excisted and of my arrest and time in jail, frightening.
A great start.Looking forward to the rest.
You didn't tell me about the accomodation. You had a difficult trip and you also had to come to terms with not having Lynn there with you. But at least you found you had friends there.
Jackie
Danny i have to say i had to wipe away a few tears reading you holiday report. looking forward to the rest. Gel
Danny, you've got me sat on the edge of my seat, time in jail !!
Danny I have a lump in my throat reading your report big hugs for you please will you write some more I will be on and off this puter all the time to see what you have to write next I cant wait to read more xxx colleen

Fizz
Danny, I am sending you a hug.
Cant wait for the next instalment, on tenterhooks to read about your jail episode
what a lovely report
I will carry on with the report as soon as I can think how to word it, the next part I find a little disturbing and needed guidance from Fiona{ thank you Fiona)but I think it is relevant to holidays in Goa, and I would like to thank the people who have responded to the first part of my report, we each go to Goa for different reasons, my agenda is probably different to many others, I've never thought of myself as an emotionly weak person so the last 12 months has been an eye opener to me.
To grief for a partner is not being emotionally weak Danny.
That put a lump in my throat too, we were in Benaulim for a couple of days and I looked for you in Pedro's but didn't see you Look forward to the rest of your report.
Danny
the emotionally strong accept their loss and grieve, the weak do not grieve, they hide their feelings and pretend to themselves.
If grieving means shedding a few tears, thats not weakness, it's a sign of the strength of the love that you had.
can't wait to find out what you did to deserve a visit to jail!
............... and respect to someone who could go alone, I am not sure that I would have the courage.
Danny I dont know what to say, I just feel very sad reading your report. Hope things improved on holiday (after from being arrested!!!). Looking forward to reading more ....
When I got back to funnys, a man joined me at my table, aman I will call Bob, he spent the next month with me, a man with his own agenda for being in Goa, he was one of 4 alcoholics that I met on this holiday, very nice people, untill they were drunk, Bob told me of the disco at funnys that night, so it was have a kip then shower then food and then its party time, thats when my troubles started ( Fiona please delete anthing you think should not be read on this forum) I got absolutley stinko, 2 boys helped me home, they tell me they left me on the bed, but i must have got up again and sat outside and fell asleep, when i awoke there was someone with there hand up my shorts. I thought I had just pushed him away and went to my room, but the following afternoon there were 2 armed pollice at my door with the guy who was making a complaint against me, he had got stitches on the bridge of his nose which they said was broken, the complaint was that I was a homosexual who made a move on him and when he refused I had beaten him, they wanted me to pay all his hospital fees, for the treatment he had already received and the future bills untill he was right again, I told them no chance, so I was carted of to the cells in Colva, and I got a bit of a belting for my troubles.
My god Danny this is horrific and sounds like a holiday from hell ...
we read about things like this in the newspapers but its still shocking when we hear one of our members has gone through it.
