It says in the Maldives guidebook I have, that even magazines with adverts of underwear in them are considered as pornography in the Maldives, and therefore prohibited. Anything of this nature could be taken from you on arrival at Male airport. How would I fare with something like FHM or GQ magazine? Would these be confiscated?
