The Magnific is right on the beach in the centre of Gumbet. Its a good 10-minute walk out towards Bitez to the Posiedon from the Magnific.

We stayed at the Magnific in 2002. The rooms are very basic and ours had no balcony. The pool area is fantastic but very noisy till all hours so don`t get a room near to it. Overall we would go back but would need a balcony and a quieter location.

thinking of going to turkey this summer, leaving 26th august for two weeks

if we go, me and the girlfriend, we'll be gone for two weeks

just wondering, what is turkey like, have only ever been to lanzarote with each other last year

what price is everything?
do they take euro?
whats the nightlife like

etc etc

ive checked out reviews of the magnific, looks nice but want opinions

im 24, she's 21

any advice much appreciated

Hiya Event, Me and the Mrs went to Gumbet in may, going back in September for another 2 weeks.

Large bottle of beer (Effes) will cost between 3 and 5 Lira, a little more in the night spots of bar street and vodka & Coke again is around 4 or 5 Lira, soft drink in the bars are around 3 to 5 Lira.

Water in the supermarket for a bottle of 1.5litre is 1 to 1.5 Lira and a bottle of coke/fanta/sprite is 3 lira for a 2litre bottle.

They do take Euros, but obviously prefer Turkish Lira, as they don't have to convert it.

The temp in late August is very warm aroung 80 to 85 in the day and nice in the evening. I am going 11 Sept (so will still be nice).

Gumbet/Bodrun is VERY lively at night, I couldn't get over the fact that the shops are still open at 1.00am and the Barbers over the road from where we used to drink didn't close until around 1.45am (classic).

You will have a good time mate, the prices are a little more expensive than say spain, but I prefer Turkey.
