Hi,

You are right, half october a lot of hotels, bars, restaurants etc will be closed. Try Palma, most of the bars etc stays open there.

The weather can be nice, normal temperature about 20 to 25° C.
We are going end of september... seatemperature is about 26° :D

Regards, Peter

Weve been mid october, and its a long sleeve job of an evening. It all depends how 'big' the resort is as regards stuff being open, i would say.

We are going to Sa Coma on 20 October. Has anyone been this late? If so, were all the bars/restaurants open. We were hoping it would still be reasonably busy/lively as it's half term

Hi, Well last year I went to Illetas in Majorca and the weather was amazin about 80 degrees. But all the spanish said this was very unusual because its normally rain! The year before this i went to mainland Spain and the weather was awful poured down the whole time.

Now we go to Cala Bona/Cala Millor all the time, and as we have two teenagers coming along with us we dont want them to be bored!

I have gone on a few websites and found that a few bars are open all year round, but i no there will not be the same atmosphere.

We usually go for 2 weeks in July / August time. Last year we also went for a week in October. around the 3rd week, 16th to 23rd. We stayed in the Magalluf / Palanova area and the weather was great, just 1 over cast day.
We enjoyed the October climate so well that we are going for 2 weeks this year, the 1st to the 15th. The Palmanova / Magaluf area seemed to be still fully open with the exception of the large night clubs.
I just hope the weather is as kind to us this year.
What date does the school half term fall on in October.

The schools in Cheshire finish Friday 21st October and return to school 31st October.

i am looking forward to going, we have been to Palma Nova before and really enjoyed it. We are going all inclusive and staying at the Hotel Honolulu. Never done all inclusive before, can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile?

Hi Mkettle
We stayed at the Honolulu last October the 16th to the 23rd and the weather was fine. It was approx our 10th all inclusive and I would rate the Honolulu as average out of them, but we really enjoyed our stay.
The staff were very nice and the food was fine. Once you get used to the steep hill up to the Hotel you will be fine. Palma Nova and Magalluf are on your door step so it is great for getting about.
The pool bar opens from around 12.00 to 16.00 but forget about the pool. it will be far to cold. The hotel generally has a mixed crowd staying in October including Spanish OAP groups.
We are going the first 2 weeks in October this year to the Marina Pax in the far end of Magalluf which is about 20 miniutes walk away from the Honolulu. I hope you enjoy your stay. As a matter of intrest what company are you travelling with ?.

Hi Robert

We are going with Direct Holidays and there are 5 of us. We are taking my dad who hasn't been abroad for nearly 20 years so it should be fun.

We wen to Palma Nova in 2003 and stayed at the Mimosa Park hotel and that hotel was fine apart from no air conditioning!

Like most of the hotels I go to I always look at the websites with reviews on and the Honolulu doesn't do very well, but in saying that we went to Florida in May and the hotel got a few terrible reviews but we thought it was great. But it is nice have the opinion of someone who has stayed at the hotel.

I can remember it is located next to the slingshot, I bottled it last time might try and do it this time!

Thanks for your help

Marie

By the time nov comes the weather can be unsettled and cold. Go to the Canary Islands. Try http://www.securitytravel.co.uk orchid travel on teletext who are owned by thomas cook there are loads more companies on teletext who do the canaries at very good prices. The temp at the end of october would be 77f to 81f. Just a couple more hours on the flight.

Thats still the half term week, prices will be higher.
