Hi!
Thinking of going to Majorca in the October school half term.
We will be going to Cala Bona/Cala Millor.
Should I expect a lot of the places then to be closed e.g bars and clubs.
As there is going to be 2 teenagers coming are they going to be bored!
Thanks!
I'd like to know what the weahter is like October half term too
You are right, half october a lot of hotels, bars, restaurants etc will be closed. Try Palma, most of the bars etc stays open there.
The weather can be nice, normal temperature about 20 to 25° C.
We are going end of september... seatemperature is about 26°
Regards, Peter
Weve been mid october, and its a long sleeve job of an evening. It all depends how 'big' the resort is as regards stuff being open, i would say.
We are going to Sa Coma on 20 October. Has anyone been this late? If so, were all the bars/restaurants open. We were hoping it would still be reasonably busy/lively as it's half term
Now we go to Cala Bona/Cala Millor all the time, and as we have two teenagers coming along with us we dont want them to be bored!
I have gone on a few websites and found that a few bars are open all year round, but i no there will not be the same atmosphere.
Please do not post in phone text format
I have booked to go in October half term week, We are staying in Palma Nova and have been told that most hotels/bars are open. I am not sure about the smaller resorts though
We enjoyed the October climate so well that we are going for 2 weeks this year, the 1st to the 15th. The Palmanova / Magaluf area seemed to be still fully open with the exception of the large night clubs.
I just hope the weather is as kind to us this year.
What date does the school half term fall on in October.
Robert.
i am looking forward to going, we have been to Palma Nova before and really enjoyed it. We are going all inclusive and staying at the Hotel Honolulu. Never done all inclusive before, can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile?
We stayed at the Honolulu last October the 16th to the 23rd and the weather was fine. It was approx our 10th all inclusive and I would rate the Honolulu as average out of them, but we really enjoyed our stay.
The staff were very nice and the food was fine. Once you get used to the steep hill up to the Hotel you will be fine. Palma Nova and Magalluf are on your door step so it is great for getting about.
The pool bar opens from around 12.00 to 16.00 but forget about the pool. it will be far to cold. The hotel generally has a mixed crowd staying in October including Spanish OAP groups.
We are going the first 2 weeks in October this year to the Marina Pax in the far end of Magalluf which is about 20 miniutes walk away from the Honolulu. I hope you enjoy your stay. As a matter of intrest what company are you travelling with ?.
Robert.
We are going with Direct Holidays and there are 5 of us. We are taking my dad who hasn't been abroad for nearly 20 years so it should be fun.
We wen to Palma Nova in 2003 and stayed at the Mimosa Park hotel and that hotel was fine apart from no air conditioning!
Like most of the hotels I go to I always look at the websites with reviews on and the Honolulu doesn't do very well, but in saying that we went to Florida in May and the hotel got a few terrible reviews but we thought it was great. But it is nice have the opinion of someone who has stayed at the hotel.
I can remember it is located next to the slingshot, I bottled it last time might try and do it this time!
Thanks for your help
Marie
hi ,me and my bloke are thinking of having a week in magaluf on the 26th october ,but we are a bit worried about the weather at this time of year.we may be staying in the fiesta jungla ,if anyone as stayed there please let me know what it is like .we have just come back from a 2 week in salou with the kids and the second week my 5 year old was rushed into hospital as he had 2 fits ,so second week was,nt as relaxing,so this will be a good excuse for another holiday, haha.
Hi, I went on 7th November in 2004 to the south east coast and it was quite cold, especially at night and boy when it rained- it rained!!!
By the time nov comes the weather can be unsettled and cold. Go to the Canary Islands. Try http://www.securitytravel.co.uk orchid travel on teletext who are owned by thomas cook there are loads more companies on teletext who do the canaries at very good prices. The temp at the end of october would be 77f to 81f. Just a couple more hours on the flight.
Thats still the half term week, prices will be higher.
