Copy the link to your avatar, go to User Control Panel at the top right of the screen, click on Edit Avatar at the left hand side, paste the link into Link To Off-site, click Submit.

Please can sombody explain to me why when browsing the forum it is saying offline,when I know I am online..also please can I have an address for avatars please ..i feel quite naked...Cheers Suzyq

Hi Suzyq,

You have not by any chance set your status to "hidden" as you will be shown as offline despite being online.

As to your Avatar, you can either search the web or look in our gallary for one to your liking.

let me hazard a guess.
He/she read Michelles post about her missing avatar. Underneath the post there are suggested similar threads. This one was there and the poster assumed you needed to add to it to keep their own avatar.

I lost my avatar on another site of which many of us are also members. I then ended up with the one you have above Cadge which I can't even read. I've changed it temporarilly to one from the 'library' but will try and sort out something better for myself when I've got more time. :que

OMG - I've now lost mine on here as well! What the heck is going on?

Panic over - it was still showing in the 'profile' area so I've managed to get it back.

It still keeps disappearing and almost every time I come on to HT I have to re-set my avatar again. Thank goodness it doesn't disappear from my profile as Sanji set it up for me in the first place. What the heck is going on? :que

More likely than not, it will be ImageShack that's playing up.
You should always have a 'back-up' copy on your computer, because sometimes the image comes back when
the hosting site has sorted itself out, but there is always the possibility that it can be lost for good.

Right click on the image and 'save as' on your computer - doing this will prevent you losing it for good.

Thanks for that tip Sanji and I'll certainly do that. My avatar on the other site was a photo so I've got to sort out how to put another one on to replace it, as in the meantime I'm making do with one from the gallery rather than being faceless.

This is getting ridiculous. Once more mine has disappeared. If I go into my profile, which I'll do again in a minute, it is still showing there. I click on 're-set' and 'submit' and it appears again but only for a short while before it vanishes again. I hadn't backed it up until Sanji reminded me to do so but it always seemed to be in my profile, but just not on the forums. :banghead:
