Quite simply there is one 2 ways to go cheaper
1/ buy a tent and kit (will last around 4 years but the other stuff should last longer)
2/ Join the Caravan and Camping Club
3/ go to one of their 5 pitch certified sites they charge somewhere between £2.50 and £10 a night
OR you could go the whole hog and do it like we do with a tourer and as members of the Caravan Club go to their Certified Locations (similar to the Caravan and Camping Clubs CS 5 pitch sites) these go for a little more as they include electric in the prices
OR
just book a short break package you may actually find it cheaper to go abroad
Daft isn't it
You will find Easter school holidays vary around the UK this year.
Many schools are closing for Easter weekend only & then having a fortnight closure mid April..very confusing
anyone going anywhere for easter
no but i wish i was
Normandy! Five days, leaving on the chunnel at 01:00 on Thursday morning.
Bit late but future reference.
We always book with owners, they charge loads less than the actual parks. They usually advertise in local newspapers.
Pity you don't have a really good mate who could let their's out.
Sorry this is obviously too late to be of use this year, but if all you want is a few days away in a caravan have you considered booking a Sun break with the Sun newspaper? We've done it a couple of times - it costs £9.50 per person in this country, and you can go Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday. Usually on Haven etc type sites, but great value and if you get your vouchers & booking forms in quickly you can pick any park & dates.
Hope it helps for next year!
