I would like to ask something that i have not understand for years. Why would a person book an accommodation/holidays in a small resort like malia or chersonissos in order to go and have crazy nights out with other people from his own country.
basically i am not agenst people going abroad and having a good time, as i have done it and it was fab, but i dont understand that it has to be resort that mainly people from my country go for me to have a good time.
in that way there is no inderaction with any of the locals apart from giving them money for your stay there and from the young locals who are looking for a date (to be polite).
is it just the 3 S they are looking for (Sea, Sun, Sex) regardless the area or it is just the fact that its easier to go by in such resorts as they have been ''created'' to be for that kind of holidays?

went on my first lads holiday last year, we stayed in stalis about half hour walk from malia's strip. We were out in malia everynight for a fortnight. If last year is anything to go by this year will be top draw again. The clubs are wicked and the drinks cheap - go to yiasou bar its open air and always rammed by 12 with everyone dancing on the podiums and bars!
We're going back this year after not finding anywhere that lived up to the malia hype - cant wait

Been to both and Malia wins hands down!! It has more party spirit and a relaxed atmosphere than anywhere I have been with great clubs and pubs, all of which offer different things

Hi.

I agree Malia is where you need to go.
However i would suggest looking for apartments or hotels in the old part of Malia just for those nights you would like a good nights sleep.
We stayed at the Aloni & Anna-Maria apartments found them to be cheap, comfortable and friendly, the location was only a short stroll from the nightclubs and beach.

Cheers Ken. :)

I went to Malia in August, 2005 and stayed in Stone Well Studios. It's a quality hotel to stay in. You have everything right near you. The beach is 5 mins and the clubbing strip which is amazin is 2 mins away. The apartments are clean and the staff are both friendly and speak english. Every where is open till 6 - 7am so u can stay out late. I went there with 4 girls and we enjoyed every minute of it. We have some top memories. The only bads things are that you end up with bruises on ur arms cos the PR's on the strip try and grab you to make you go in the clubs. Another thing is that there are loads of little kids out late beggin for money. DON'T let them near your bags or pockets cos they will rob yor money. I felt sorry for them at first but u will realise y not 2 give them your money when your on holiday.

Anyways me and my mates are booking 2 go back again and stay in Stone Well studios. Hope you have a great time on ur hol's.

Plus if your single there are loads of lads there. More lads than girls so that a bonus.

Are there laws that enforce bars to close early-ish in Malia? One of my daughters was in Kos in September and said the bars werent open all night like Magaluf etc. My other daughter is going to Malia in July and was wondering about this. Anyone know please??

yes there is one. if i remember correct bars should close around 3-5 depending the day of the week. still most bar owners do not follow the law if the police doesnt bother them. so some times it might be 6 in the morning when they close down

If you are a Magaluf regular (or other Spanish equvilants) and have not tried Greece yet and, its the Magaluf type holiday you want then I am sure you will find Malia meets all your needs and it has that extra touch of quaintness and "genuine humour" that the Spanish or Turkish resorts dont. Most who opt for these holiday types be it Faliraki, Laganas, Malia etc choose never to sample the plastic atmosphere and "rip offs" of Magaluf, Hisaronu, Ibiza, Costas etc again. Go on, try it, you know you really want to.
