Can anyone help re my post? Do Manchester Airport still give you the clear bags as you go through or do you have to bring your own? Thanks!
Yes. Clear plastic bags were readily available last week. They just hand them out in the line for security.
The deadline I mentioned is for a flexible rate, not a saver rate like yourselves. Why don't you ring them and explain. There might not be a deadline as the room is already paid for so to them it doesn't really matter if you are there or not.
I do know that they have a late check out till 2.00 p.m. subject to the room not being booked out, this is an additional cost (use to be £10.00). You could arrive at 6.00 have breakfast get your head down for a few hours shower change and then drive home.

Hi Gail I have done what you suggested and rang the hotel direct and explained our situation, I couldn't believe what the girl on reception was telling me, basically if we do not physically check in by 4am then it is classed as a new day and we would have to pay again!! This is ridiculous, we have paid in advance and paid for breakfast as well, i explained we only wanted to freshen up, eat and be on our way but she insisted they have to follow procedures, if we are not there by 4am we will have to pay again!! Our flight actually lands at around 5am ish and it will be so annoying if we have to stop at a service station to buy expensive breakfasts for us when we already have it paid for! I even said to her "can't you just pretend we are in bed!!" She did tell me to e mail customer services and explain to them but somehow I cannot see them going against "procedures" when clearly the girl on the desk could quite easily have overlooked the fact that we will check in an hour later than the deadline.
Sorry to hear that Twinkletoes, I am at a loss to understand why they wont let you check in and check out within a matter of hours if only to freshen up and have breakfast. What are they going to do if you don't turn up let the room out for a matter of only a few hours. They do ask on their website that if your plans change let them know as soon as possible even though they wont refund you. I assume this is so that they can relet the room and get "double bubble". If you decide not to stay don't bother telling them as you have already paid anyway. Why should they get extra money. Crazy system but probably a warning to people not to use the saver rate if they think their plans are going to change.
Looking at their T&Cs (and they seem have used Ryanair as consultants on those!!) you can't check in after 0400 even if you pay the higher flexible rate. In fact it seems impossible to check in at any price between 0400 and 1200. Seems an odd way to run their business. The only postitive point (well, slightly less negative) is that they do offer refund insurance for £1 per booking just in case this sort of thing happens - given the way airlines are it would seem wise for anyone booking in connection with an inbound flight to take this out.
I was wondering if I rang them up again and said we will be arriving between 4am and 5am due to a flight change (even though it will be neare 6am) that they might just say ok, rather than actually 'asking' them if it's ok to turn up at 6am?
Have a go, what have you got to lose anyway. What happens to all the poor people whose flight has been delayed incoming and instead of checking in say 11.00 p.m. have a 3 delay so don't land until 4.00 a.m. Do the travelodge turn them away? I think all airport hotels should have some flexibility and even if it means ringing from your departure airport to let them know you are delayed they should treat that as you are still intending to stay.
Let us know how you get on
Gail
OK Gail Thanks, Yes that is true, what about all these people that genuinely are delayed by hours? I am sure as an airport hotel they will have come across that before. I will let you know how we get on
the T&Cs imply that if you don't checkin by 0400 you lose the breakfast paid for as an extra. Whilst they may be able to put forward some kind of weak case for cancelling the room I think they may be on dodgy legal ground for cancelling the breakfast voucher at a time when you're so early for breakfast.
i am looking into booking a preimer inn hotel at manchester airport as anyone stopped at this hotel in the last few weeks ?
i have booked a 2 week hoilday to coral sea resort in sharm with first choice and had extra leg room seat for me the wife and my 14 year old daughter but since then thomsonfly and taken over the flight can my daughter still have the extra leg room seat since she is 14 year old ?
Your second post would be better suited on the Thomsonfly thread. CAA regulations state anyone under the age of 16 cannot sit in an exit row. They can, however sit in extra legroom seating if it's a bulkhead row, but that depends on the aircraft type. If you provide your flight details on the Thomsonfly thread, i'll give you some further details.

Been looking through the Bluedog Airport Hotel site to book a room on the 13th of July as we are flying early morning on the 14th to Margarita. Being as we are going up on the train we don't reall want to be going miles to the hotel. On the site it advertises "Undercover 3 star hotel" with free transfers to the airport for 39 quid, anyone got any idea which hotel the Undercover one is at the moment
I will now merge your topic with our existing Manchester Airport topic where more information will be provided.
Mark
Dont really know that website but friends used a similar website and were eventually allocated Britannia Country House Hotel. The hotel was awful and I know that was something like £39.00.
On your website there seems to be a few 3* hotels but not at the airport so my guess it is a hotel off site!
Gail
Cheers Gail, I think we will just stick to the Travel lodge, its only a bed afterall.
Depending on when you are going there are some £19 rooms available during July and August.
Gail
Yes found the £19 deal last night and booked it, bargain!
