Yes you can. They are large bottles of water. Just ask at the bar-- no problem whatsoever with it and all part of the all-inclusive.
Don't miss the saturday evening in the main restaurant. Candlelit tables and music- really good.
I am sure you will have a great time. We went twice last year- had bad weather both times- but still enjoyed our stay.
Just keep an open mind on it all and make everything relative to the price you paid and all will be fine! Many people expect to pay bottom dollar prices and get 5*+ service etc.
I would get involved with the activities and get to know the animation team. If they know you are friendly they will make your stay quite special.
Dont forget your travel kettle and your own large mugs/cups!! Definitely take advantage of the safety boxes for 2dinar a day- you will NOT regret doing that!
Relax and enjoy yourself and take it all in your stride and keep smiling!!
Look forward to hearing how you got on.
Oh yes- just one thing more. On your way back at the airport, as normal everywhere, your bags , hand luggage go through security scanners. On purpose I left a bottle of water in my hand baggage. They did NOT notice it. Bad really but thats how it is. IF they do discover it all they will do it confiscate it- so worth taking a chance. You will see many people putting bottles of water in a bin- just forget to do it!!
Another small point, in previous years the exchange rate has been the same everywhere but last year my hotel (not the Salem) was giving a very bad rate so I changed notes at the bank which was considerably better. It would appear that you are supposed to produce your passport, as on the receipt I was given there was a space for them to enter the number, but they never asked for mine and my receipts were stamped with my nationality as 'Tunisienne'
I checked the exchange rates at the hotel and the local banks and found the exchange rate at the Royal Salem no different at all.
That's how it should be Pete, and has always been in the past. I'm sure it is the same now in many places, but it is something to be aware of since some places seem to be taking the opportunity to maximise their profits.
