Hi everyone, thanks for the updates on Corfu/Skorpios. Thanks Suzanne for taking the time and trouble to send the "Rosu" email address but we have already tried emailing at that address with no response. Tried phoning the hotel four times this morning, but no answer. Phone is ringing, then an automated voice says a couple of lines in Spanish, then carries on to say in English that I have reached the Corfu Marina Hotel and please wait a moment whilst we connect you. The phone then continues to ring out, before it 'times out'. This is so unusual! Barbara, Marga, or Alfredo have always been so efficient and prompt in returning both emails and/or telephone calls. For the last 10 years or so we have made our own travel plans and hired a car from/to the airport, but the problems with the airlines last September, and seeing stranded guests not knowing how they were going to get home, prompted us to book this year with a Tour Operator, just to be on the safe side. If people can't contact the hotel, how can the hotel hope to take independent bookings, like we have done for so many years? I will persevere both with the emails and telephone, but if anyone has other ideas how I can make contact, I would be very obliged.
Thanks Michael
It does not appear on the Marina website now, although it was featured a few months ago.
Nor does it feature on the Rosu Hotels emerging website under construction.
What gives ?
There is no problem with either hotel chain.
So why would Marina sell off 4 hotels ?
We've stayed at the Don Rey Jamie and Panorama, twice each - and they are very popular and successful establishments.
The Marina Luz (in my opinion) looks like a white elephant since it went "up market" last season.
I received this info earlier today -
Regarding the Aparthotel Porto Cari, I can inform you that it does not belong to Marina Hotels.
There was an initial agreement for this property, however this has not been continued as Marina Hotels does not consider to be in its' interest to purchase the aforementioned establishment.
The tour operators have been informed and booking are being allocated to other hotels, some of them to our other Marina Hotels and some to hotels which are not part of our group. Our direct bookings have also been re-allocated and guests have been informed.
I've heard that the deal is still in play.
I wonder if it's name is now Aparthotel Puerto del Sol Plaza Porto Cari - as I came upon this when I 'Googled' the former.
Obviously neither Rosu or Marina chains are involved.
Maybe Suzanne (aka Mallorca 1) whom I suspect works for Rosu Hotels can explain what happened to this particular establishment ?
If we can get the 'new' name clarified I'll alter our hotel review section. Thanks
Glynis - please 'Google' Aparthotel Puerto del Sol Plaza Porto Cari and see what you think.
I can see what you mean as various photo's look the same. However on Alpharooms both hotels are listed and Apartments Puerto Del Sol mentions 3 pools the Marina they only mention 'outdoor pool with a children's pool'
