There is a market on a Wednesday morning in Andraxt. You can get a taxi there or the tour operators do it as a half day tour and it also takes you to the Port.
Nice wee town easy to spend a couple of hours there stopping for coffee and people watching.

There is also a good market in Inca, it is in about the middle of the island and i think it is on a Thursday, there is also a market in the middle of the street in Palma, but i am unsure what day that is on.

Anyone know what the best market is on the island? we stay in PP and the Wed market is ok, we have been to the Inca market too...any others you have been to?

Well, Inca is the island's biggest so it's said. Alcudia (Tuesday and Sunday) is the biggest in the immediate northern area. Consell (Sunday) is interesting for curios, but at the height of summer there aren't the same number of visitors and hence fewer stalls - too hot!!

Pollensa market on a Sunday morning is beautiful. Lots of craft type products, lovely jewellery, wooden toys, food with fruit & veg and flowers in the main square. Far more relaxed than Inca and less of the stuff you see everywhere!

Can anyone confirm the days this market runs and what kind of things are for sale.

How much is a taxi from Cala Millor?

Is it a big market?

Oh dear just over 48hrs to go and the excitment's too much I'm really waffling.

Puerto Pollensa is a fair way by taxi. Nearest market to Cala Millor is Sa coma on Wed eve (5 ish) but very small . Best market is Son Servera on a Fri morning only a few € by taxi or bus. Lots to buy and barter with the locals , I think they are still on in October.

Just to clarify from above, PUERTO Pollensa market is definitely on Wednesdays, Pollensa TOWN market is presumably the one on Sundays?

(the two places are a few miles apart, so if you're on public transport you would not be amused to be in the wrong place on the wrong day!)

What kind of items are for sale at Son Servera market.

Is it a market where the local's shop or it is a touristy market with souvenirs etc..

Also what time does it generally start?

Cheers

The market is for locals and tourists and is large. A lot of duplication in goods ie tablecloths ,belts etc. Starts 9ish (maybe a little before) and all done 2 ish. Watch out for pickpockets they target the crowds, markets and bus queues and keep a close eye on you kids they can easily get lost, same applies to hubby of course ! Enjoy.CBG

Hubby - lol

So long as I've got all the Euro's not bothered if I lose him around the market - lol

He hates shopping so I'd probably hear his moaning miles off
