Well, what can I say ... 9th visit and it didn't disappoint. I'll try and be brief. Left Glasgow Airport on Thurs 12 July with First Choice. Decent enough flight but with an hour and a half delay. Everything looked normal at the airport and rightly so, it will take more that an extremist with a 4 x 4 to put paid to our well earned holidays. Passed through Dalaman very quickly and settled into the private transfer mini bus. Cooling system working well and arrived at our apartments around 1hr and 15 mins later. Club Turquoise again ... now there's a surprise !!! Straight to our room and firstly noticed some subtle changes. New onyx style coverings on the tables and now double toast makers in the rooms. Some changes at the Seagull (pool) Bar too as it's all decked out with new tables and chairs. The place was looking good.
Met up with some of the regular staff and those who go will know who I mean, Yilmaz, Shooie, Ali etc at the entertainment and Serkan, Erkan, Cumali on the bar and restaurant side.
As it was only a year since our last (eight), visit we easily settled into our routine. Sunbathing, reading and swimming for the wife, sunbathing, reading , swimming, darts, waterpolo for me. Now I hear many of you saying is that it ? well yes ... we are here to relax and chill and Turquoise does it for us every time.. Not forgetting of course the ocassional vist to the bar ... 4.50 ytl for a pint, 6.50 for vodka etc. (exchange £1 = 2.52 ytl)
Eating out was excellent yet again. Ate in Club Turquoise three times and the food was excellent. Also did Le Madri (the old one and the new one), The Garden, Uno Momento, Cousins, Faros Brothers Fun Pub, Taj Mahal and those who have read my previous posts will recognise some old favourates there .. and you would be correct. Also made our usual trip through to Icmeler for a meal and we were heading for the Love Boat when I remembered somebody on here recommended Chef next door. Ate in there and had a great meal. Would certainly go back.
The subject of wine has been raised on HT and we always have wine with out meals. Had Villa Doluca, Senfoni, Villa Neva, Angora and one other but the name escapes me and have to say enjoyed them all. The best ? well in fact it was the bottles of Chardonnay we got in Club Turquoise for 28.50 ytl. I know it's a bit dearer but we enjoyed it.
Had a day in Turunc going via the taxi boat. Took Yasar the managers eight year son and we had a great day on the beach swimming and skimming stones ! Lovely place.
Got out and about a bit walking and on bicycle and continue to see many improvement in the resort. Veronicas just up from Taj Mahal has been refurbished and is looking good and the park area opposite is all now finished with their fountains and cafe area.
Went on a boat trip with friends we met previously from Newcastle. Bit different this time as we had to travel over the mountains past Icmeler to a small port I didn't get the name of but we cruised the Agean Sea as opposed to the Med at Marmaris. Fantastic day. AI at £18 each (yes I know you can get it cheaper ..) but there was only 24 of us there and the meal was the best I have ever had on what must be now 6 boat trips. Excellent value and did the usual swimming in the sea with a stop at Selimiye, lovely place too.
Private transfer back to the airport with the cooling system much appreciated after the extremely hot weather we had. Some days it was approaching 50 degrees. First Choice flight on time and returned home very early the next day and very tired indeed.
Well rattled on too much as usual, but in closing had a great time and can't see any changes being planned for next year.

Glad you enjoyed it wilson.......... the place over the mountains is probably hisaronu koy ( my village) or orhaniye. Its by far a better boat trip as the water is clearer and the scenery better...........but don't tell too many people.........
That's it CB ... Hisaronu (can't get the wee dots on this computer). Lovely place and I can understand you trying to keep the boat trips secret.
That boat trip sounds idylic, makes a change from Marmaris bay which seems to get to many boats visiting the same area.
Thanks for taking time out and sharing your holiday with us all.

Good report makes you just want to be there. How did you find the hassle. How busy was it this year compared to other years. I go 17 Sept for 2 weeks staying at Karacan Beach and cannot wait, party time when I'm there for my 40th birthday not that i need an excuse to party!!!
Enjoyed your report Wilson, sounds like you had a great holiday as usual. The boat trip you went on is the same one we did in June, as you say the food and drinks were first class. We thought it was well worth the extra especially as you weren't crammed in like sardines. We booked ours with Icmeler travel centre. I don't know about Marmaris but in Icmeler the hassle wasn't as bad this year, what do you think?
I have just returned from Marmaris this morning and the hassel was certainly not as bad as last year I found.
Great report Wilson, glad you enjoyed yourselfs, we are going to Icmeler in two weeks, wee've eaten in The Chef several times & have to say its one of our favs, is elvis still working there ?
Great report Wilson,thanks
Marmaris was certainly quieter than normal. The locals are saying it is even quieter than last year. We got no hassle whatsoever.

Just remembered it was Icmeler Travel Centre we stopped at to pay for the trip. As you say well worth the extra few pounds.

Elvis thought he worked in a chip shop .... Didn't get any of the staff's names and certainly didn't see anyone resembling the 'King'. Did meet someone from my home town though !

Being a Turquoise devotee myself i always really enjoy reading them and can relate to them as i know the people you are talking about.
Was Izoo and Cenkay still on the entertainment team Wilson?
We also found the hassle virtually non existent.
Glad you had a great time, think i`ll go see if i can find me a cheap deal
Izoo and Cenkay were still there. Unfortunately it seems a week after we left the entertainment team had a 'disagreement' with Yilmaz the head entertainer and all left. Bit sad really as I always think they try their hardest. I suppose though we only see them one or two weeks of the season and it must be difficult for them all with their personalities to get on all the time. Also ... go for the cheap deal !!

Tis a pity tho, that`ll be why i cant get them on msn then, wondered why they hadn`t been on.
Yeah we think they have an easy job but they all walk about looking knackered all the time.
An the 4 of them were sharing one apartment which cant be much fun i suppose.
Aw well Cenkay kept threatening to come up and visit me when he gets back maybe it will be sooner than i thought .
