Hi Christine
I'll use this as a reply to both your query, and that of another member querying the Hotel Samos.
The Martinique is situated a few minutes walk from Magalluf "Centre" and this means that the Hotel is not troubled quite so much as other more central Hotels by passing revellers. However as with any Hotel in Magalluf or anywhere for that matter, you can be unfortunate enough to have noisy neighbours (of any age) although you are likely to get most bother from groups of teenagers.
Last year the Martinique got some particularly bad press because it accomodated a stag group (from Mansfield I seem to remember) of over 80 young men, and unlike most other Stag groups these lads seemed intent on causing trouble wherever they went in the resort, smashing up a couple of bars and even assaulting bar owners. We had several customers in our bar that week staying at the Martinique, who were tearing their hair out, in fact one of them actually booked into another Hotel because it was so bad - not only did they have the noise of a small army of drunks arriving home about 7am, but then one of the other residents took his own revenge by walking up and down the corridor about 9am banging a pan with a wooden spoon.
However as I say, that could have happened in any Hotel, and the overwhelming number of people I spoke to were very happy with the Martinique.
I was surprised at the comments of another poster with regards to the Hotel Samos (which is currently full of Spanish Pensioners) since we find this to be a predominantly family Hotel, with little or no trouble. However during the main season, you would do well to avoid the rooms facing onto the main road, since it is the route home for may people leaving BCM at 6am.
My own thought is that you should stay with your original choice of the Martinique.
Hope this helps a little.
Cheers
Adam
