I have just bought my first Maxi dress even though I did not need anymore clothes for my holidays so I blame everyone on this thread ;)

It's a Monsoon one from a nearby ex catalogue store RRP £60 which they were selling for £20 but today it was reduced to £12 :D it would have been cheeky not to buy it :rofl It's hard to describe but cream and black patterned top half and black flowered bottom and it has cute little coloured beads on the straps.

Stardust you could'nt have passed on such a bargain for a Monsoon label..........well done .........join the club :rofl

It sounds fabulous.

I have just been on the asda website and cant find any petite maxi dresses that I have heard about, the cheap ones have gone.

Might try trafford centre asda tomorrow..knowing my luck they have already gone..:O( :duh

I got one (pink, obviously! ;)) from eBay and it's a lovely length for me (5'2"). Nice pair of pink canvas wedges from Tesco for a fiver too!

This time next week I'll be on the plane to Turkey! :)

i have ordered two from Ambrose Wilson will show you when they arrive , Kazza i also tried ordering the ones advertised on the asda website and they were out of stock , i also went in store but they could not order them for me

I also ordered some from Very that arrived a few days ago, they were standard length but to say that I would be sweeping the floor with them was an understatement so I sent them straight back and I'm 5ft 6 so not too teeny.

I would actually avoid the Asda ones purely because with deals like that you usually find that on a night out on holiday you find half a dozen people wearing exactly the same outfit as you ;)

Stardust you are so right, Il avoid the asda ones then, I do own 4 maxi dresses 2 from topshop, and 2 from choice catologue so I might just get one when I get paid from miss selfridge had my eye on one for weeks now. :O) Tell you what though got a lovely pair of patent sandals from tesco only 8 quid and there so cute, they had some nice stuff in there yestereday...roll on over 4 weeks.. :sun2

I'm thinking about buying one if I can find one with sleeves, as I have 'bingo wings' :rofl

Mind you, we don't go away till 11 September, and I'm losing 2-3lbs a week at Slimming World. :tup
Hopefully I will be a size 14 when we get to Turkey.
Wow, I can't remember the last time I was a size 14!!!

Well done on the weight loss Pandy, and don't worry too much about the bingo wings. There'll be a load of people far bigger than you when you go away.

Pandy

There are maxi dresses with sleeves 1 with long sleeves in black in choice catologue its gorge and only cost 30 quid, and also a t shirt one in miss selfridge its one of the dresses Ive got my eye on its 18 quid..

I bought with much hesitation a dress from asda yesterday, they didnt have any maxi dresses in sold out apart from the new limited edtion range (G12) parrot maxi dress, BUT only size 16 and 18,so I go the short parrot one sleeve dress for 16 quid size 6 (the last small size)only had 1 size left in a size 10, its not a maxi dress but its so pretty I have had my eye on this on the website and It looks so expensive will look amazing on my hols with some high gladiator sandals.. they also had the usual summer dresses for the beach..but everything is selling fast, the one I go to at the trafford centre sells out of stuff quick smart..love the dress I got ,and I only went in for a curry and bits ;) :sun2

Well I didn't know this thread existed till now!!
I was shopping for holiday bits last week: bikinis and strappy tops etc, while I was in New Look I saw one of the assistants wearing a maxi dress that I had passed on the rail. It looked so nice on her I thought Id try it (never really fancied one before then!) I fell in love with it and bought it! So shall be taking it away with me in a couple of weeks.

I took Helen T's advice, Who care's about 'bingo wings' when you're on holiday? :que

I bought a lovely one from 'Next' (a sleeveless strappy little number).
Mind you, I bought a pashmino to cover the 'bingo wings'.
Hubby's loving the new me, but NOT the expense!!!! :rage

Good on you Pandy - He won't mind the expense when you'll look a million dollars on holiday :tup

Ahh am too late pandy1956 was going to tell you I saw a maxi dress in New Look with short sleeves (T Shirt type) £16. Never mind, glad to hear you got one. I'm not a girly girl either so although all my friends say I'd suit one I just know I'd feel as though I had a 'frock' on :rofl

Thanks for that Glynis...............You'll get me shot!!!
I've been out to New look today and bought the sleeved maxi dress!!!!! :D (It's more 'me' as it is plain, not flowery)
Mind you, I'm going to need some of those shaping knickers to hide the bulges. :rofl
Hubby doesn't know I've been spending even MORE money on holiday clothes.
I'm gonna get shot when he finds out. (He's such a tight wad lol) :rofl
Like £16-00 is gonna break the bank??? :duh

PLEASE girl's no more suggestions for maxi dresses. I'd kinda like a bit of
'spends' for my hols, and I can't resist buying new clothes!!!!
