Having just returned from the Cala Gran hotel in Cala D'or where we had a 7 day holiday with you, when we got to the hotel we were told that we were not booked in! the staff were very helpful and got us 2 rooms after about 2 hours wait, we had hoped that when we booked this we would get 2 rooms together but the hotel was unable to do this as we were not previously booked in. We were therefore on 2 different floors.
At the end of the holiday when we rang for our return transfer we were told that we would be picked up from outside the hotel at 6.40am so we were outside the hotel a 6.30am. A coach turned up at about 6.35am. The hotel receptionist said that the coach was for room 320. I asked if it was for anyone else and was told by the receptionist and the driver, no, the people in room 320 said it was not for them as they had booked a private taxi. We then waited for 20minutes and then contacted your helpline, we were told that the coach would be there within 10minues. After another 20 minutes we asked the reception to phone again, we were then told that the coach was 30minutes late. After one hour we phoned the helpline again and we were then told that the coach had turned up but had not picked up any passengers.
I was then told to get a taxi and it would be refunded to us back in the UK. I asked for a reference number and was given 205400. I was then asked to confirm that it was for a party in the name of collins, consisting of 3 people from the Hotel America in Calas de Majorca. I then informed them that it was a party of 4 from the hotel cala gran in cala d'or under the name of Collins. I was then given a different reference number of 171305, obviously someone had made a mistake with our transfers.
Therefore please refund the taxi fare of 55 euros, (receipt included) and I feel that we should be reimbursed due to the inconvenience and distress caused to our party.
This is a letter i sent to medinland in september i have just got a reply 07/12/05 telling me the local agent opperated the pick properlyw therefore i will not be geting my 50euros back what do you think ?
don`t think they read the letter, no apologies recived. very bad customer service, will not use or advise to use again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Medinland Travel we booked 7 nights with them from 21st April to 27th APril inclusive which meant we should have left hotel on Friday 28th April 2008, We found out on the Thursday 27th that our flights were booked for that day so we had to leave a day early after 6 nights only they are now saying that was what we arranged their paperwork states 7 nights not 6 nights all inclusive, we will not be using this company again. After waiting to hear from them they are now stating that we had 6 nights which is what was ordered.
I think if I saw a booking for 21st April to 27th April I would assume that I would be arriving on 21st and leaving on 27th not the 28th so actually 6 nights.
Sounds like a bit of preaching but it ensures any problems are identified and resolved before you go.
I got my documents today but there were no tickets or insurance - I do know many who just stick them in the drawer until they are off to the airport.Within ten minutes I was on the phone and the problem was sorted.

If you booked from the 21st to the 27th then this would be 6 nights. Holidays would always be booked from the day tou arrive to the day you depart.
Did you select the dates yourself on their site or did you select "7 Nights". This may be the deciding factor in who is at fault. I dont honestly think you have a cliam that would stand, I think you might have to put this one down to experience and keep a good check on all paperwork and dates in future holidays

My understanding of 21st to 27th means I expect to arrive on 21st and depart on 27th.
7 nights accommodation would have given your dates as 21st to 28th (your arrival & departure dates). From what you say, it definitely appears you only reserved 6 nights accommodation.

I was under the impression that holidays are paid for on a per night basis. So if seven nights accommodation are booked, seven nights should be spend in the room.
What did the tickets say?
If they say you fly on 21st and return on 27th then it is six nights 7 days.
Your first night will be that of the 21st - even if you arrive at 02.00am and your last night will be the 26th as you fly back on the 27th.

The strange thing is that unless you are using a budget airline and booking separate outgoing and return flights it's quite hard to find return flights that don't conform to the 7 or 14 days. I know I didn't have much choice for 8 nights with Thomas Cook for Turkey later this year.
I did received £50 back from medinland when they did accept should have had another days holiday

I booked a holiday with these people, I would never recommend them to anyone. First they spelled my wifes name wrong on the tickets, then when we arrived at Barcelona airport at 10pm there was no one there to meet us, no resort hoppa in sight, as it was late there were no trains either, so we were forced to take a taxi which ended up costing us 130euros. At the end of the holiday I had to spend around another 50euros booking a coach to the center of Barcelona then get a tube to the airport. On my return I wrote to them to complain and ask for a refund for the 180euros I had to spend. as you can guess they refused, and even had the front to say they hope my holiday was not ruined and I would use them again. No chance, anyone thinking of booking with these farce of a company, expect major headaches. I do not recommend you use this company, the way they have dealt with me is disgraceful.
