Hi, my name is Adrian, 44, living in North Wales. Single traveller (getting nervous now!!) flying from Manchester to Goa for the first time on 8th Dec. I am staying at the Senhor Angelo in Calangute for two weeks. I had the jabs today - no probs!
Great site with loads of tips/info.

Hi

I am Vickie & this will be my first time in Goa.
I am lucky enough to have travelled quite a lot in the Far East & North America, also Europe but I am really looking forward to experiencing somewhere new. I must admit that I love the Far East, the sights, even the sounds & smells (although some have been a bit much!). I think the best place I have been (so far that is) is Bali, so beautiful & such lovely people.

I like to try to get off the beaten track a bit but this time I might have to be more "touristy" as I will have my rather nervous friend in tow.

I have been getting some great tips from this forum & all the posts seem so fridnly, it's great.

Best regards to you all
Vickie

HI !

Im Annastasia, 28 from Birmingham .... Going to Goa for my 3rd time (1st on my own) 17th March, flying MyTravel from Manchester ... will be the mad Irish brummy dressed in green lol

Staying at Lucias Guesthouse the far side of Candolim .... its still an age away until I go but Im dead excited already and making list after list, what to pack, what to do and where to eat ! :)

If anyone sees my at airport or in the shack closest to Lucias (was something Wave 2 yrs ago I think) ... I'll be the whiter than white girl, as Billy Connolly would say I have blue celtic skin so will stil be white on leaving on Aprils fools day lol

:cheers

Were you working when you were in Goa?

i didnt work, i had recently divorced, sold a house had a bit of spare cash, decided to spend a year in india visiting my roots, (am half indian)...i suppose i did see a fair bit of india..but regarded goa as home and came back each time after i visited other parts..despite having lots of family up north.i can see that goa gets to people in a way that keeps drawing us back.
about the travelling tho..the posts about dabolim do not sound too good, i dont recall it being that bad tho..think im prepared for it..iv had some real indian horror travel stories so dabolim shouldnt be a problem..and it is worth it isnt it?

I only arrived and departed there on internal flights but it didn't seem as bad as I thought.
You will need to have a look at the India forum as I'll bet you can help with advice there as well

Hiya everyone, me (25) and my fiance(24) are going to Goa (staying in Palmarinha Resort, Calangute) for the very first time. We fly 3rd March from Manchester with First Choice for 2 weeks. Got our visas back today and very excited.
We were going to go back to Thailand for a month but because of work issues, could only get a couple of weeks off and thought, hey ho, lets go to Goa. It most certainly will be better than the old Spain or Greece type holiday (nothing against them by the way, we have enjoyed plenty of hols there). Just fancied a really good change.

Well, if anyone is going the same time as us, let me know.
