We will be planning on writing a full report when we get back (we might end up staying but don't think work would be too happy!) and will put some pics on as well. Have followed this forum for the past few months but this is the first time we've posted anything. Just trying to get my Nationwide account opended in time now.
Rah
Rahima and Kev, thanks for supporting us and I look forward to seeing you when you arrive...
Come on everyone- don't be shy!
I'm a training officer for a group that owns care homes and Steve is an architectural ironmonger, unfortualtely unless it's a lottery win i can't see us retiring for about 10 years so the luxury of months on end in Goa is a pipe dream, that will come true, later rather than sooner.
visit this site daily just to keep in touch with various members, whom we have met at Lazy days and to get my daily Goa fix, not that i'm an addict you understand, i can go without it honest
see you all tomorrow
love Jayne.

You must be having the time of your life! Get over on to the far east forum as well, and help keep me company Faye!!
Hi my names Lin, but since joining the forum am now called Lin bee, and I'm an Aries, have always loved travelling mayby because I was child of a Navy officer and lived in Singapore at an early age. have been to Sri Lanka, Thailand, Jamaica, Eygypt, Bali to mention a few, have been privileged to have spent the season in Goa [I think you call it winter in the UK] where I work extreamly hard, getting a tan/bargain/drunk. Whilst here I have sold my house in Kent and will be homeless when I leave Goa in 9 days, but will have money to get a tan/bargain/drunk.
Hi my names Lin, but since joining the forum am now called Lin bee,
I can't repeat some of the names I have been called since joining here!
it has been hard, there are days I have to phone friends at home to help decide between a cocktail or champagne, Lockieman you have been entered in my little black book.
I work extreamly hard, getting a tan/bargain/drunk.
I am sorry but you don't work hard at it at all - you make it look easy
We live in Bradford, W Yorks, I'm a nurse and work for Bradford NHS and Alfie is a mechanic for Merc Benz.
We have been all over the world, but like most of you we have fallen in love with Goa and have been 4 times.
We got back from a fantastic 2 weeks in Baga last night and I have just booked to go back next March (I resisted for 18 hours from getting the cases through the door to getting the credit card out!)
I found this website a brilliant way of finding new restaurants, shacks etc to try and thanks to all for your recommendations.
We also met Rob & Shermina from CWT and I urge every one to support the excellent work they do.
I am new to this forum. Thanks to everyone for such wonderful posts. Very very informative. I am an Indian living in UK. I have been going to Goa for the past 15 years and my last trip was in October. Now waiting for coming October for another trip.
Very quiet here. Looks like everyone is in Goa having fish curry rice, tandoori chicken , butter chicken and deep fried prawns...
I'm Chilly or otherwise Gilly!! but in Goa they all call me chilly as 1. the Goans have trouble saying Gilly and it comes out as chilly and has sorta stuck over the years and 2 I wear bells on my ankles and they call me ching chang chilly!!!! you can generally hear me coming!!
I own a great house in Goa Candolim, (nearer calangute end really) and live here for at least 8 mths of the year we have kept our house in Somerset UK and do a bit of B&B when we go home to justify the extravagance of not downsizing as its only my son living there when we are in Goa!! we usuually head off and travel over India in about April May June (by train!!!) before returning to the UK.
we have travelled the world too (my husband actually drove from UK to India in a VW over 30 yrs ago!!) but like so many others got hooked on Goa about 13 years ago, my husband is a Divemaster (Mike) and works over here for the Dive centre just for something to do (although he hasnt done much since Jan ) I have always spent some time with the poor slum kids over the years and most of them locally know me (Mama chilly!!)
we retired early two years ago and sold up our (Residential care homes)business's etc plus I was an antique Doll dealer (and manic collecter) in my 'spare' time and loved doing all the fairs ...... but we decided there was no point putting life on hold..its too short .... you have to make the most of it, tough as it is living here in Goa and living such a stress free life!!!! )
its fun meeting up with everyone from the HT forum and we have made some good friends through it

My name is Paul, I come from Swindon and I drive a car-transporter up and down the country delivering Honda's to the dealerships. I have a lovely partner in crime of 5yrs.
I have traveled about a bit over the years, alot of the Med when I was (away with the lads days), down under (Perth), Thailand, South Africa, Canada, USA (but got deported back to Canada........ long story) and the one and only Goa, we found the beauty of Goa in 04, went back in 05 and should be going back early December.
For me I love the South,it just seems more quiet and lazy, but hey what do I know.
All I need is an i-pod, good book, ice cold beer and a curry oh and the better half, cant forget her .
Great forum, loads of help. Thanks
Enjoy Paul
Any newcomers to HT like to introduce themselves (or any shy "oldies"?)
I am Steve, the person who gets Honetbeeitus is Vanda. We are both retired, it is surprising how little you can live on. Married for 28 years, 2 children and a boat.
Spent 2 months in Goa this year and loved every minute, we hope to be back next season, but not sure when. Highlights this year were HT meetings, not losing too much at the Casino (Hi folks), and all the people we met.
Thursday the 27th April is our big day this year when we and the boat go to europe, our first trip is to Prague, hopefully we will be there in July.
Really enjoyed meeting everyone in Goa, when are you going Fiona?
(looks like it is going to be October 2007 now- I have more days than in Easter
Fiona)
